Today we recognize IUGR Awareness Day 💜💙
IUGR stands for Intrauterine Growth Restriction, which simply means a baby is growing smaller than expected during pregnancy. This can happen for several reasons, including problems with the placenta, certain medical conditions in the mother, or other factors that affect how a baby receives nutrients and oxygen in the womb.
Early detection is very important. With regular prenatal checkups, ultrasounds, and monitoring, doctors can often identify growth concerns early and create a care plan to help support both mom and baby.
Today we also stand in support of families affected by IUGR, including the Lynn Family, and all parents navigating this journey. Awareness helps ensure more mothers receive the care, monitoring, and support they need for the healthiest possible outcomes.
If you are expecting or planning a pregnancy, consistent prenatal care is one of the best ways to monitor your baby's growth and development.
At LUNA OBGYN Houston, we are here to support mothers every step of the way with compassionate care and advanced prenatal monitoring.
💜 Together we can raise awareness, support families, and help every baby get the healthiest start possible.
