Adilah pictured with her first catch and our clients' second baby with Cy Fair Birth Center! We want to celebrate both our apprentice midwives, who had their first catch 6 hours apart from each other 🥳. Seeing our students grow is a part of the journey in becoming a midwife and making it full circle, when the students become the preceptor and the teacher, preparing the next generation. ✨️✨️

Greetings I am Nekelai Neke, a proud Midwife's Apprentice, Certified Doula, and Mother. My calling is ALL things midwifery. I love life and respect all aspects of the life cycle. My soul seeks freedom, justice, and equality for all people. This is especially important to me as it relates to their conception, labor, and birth experiences. Pregnancies are not cookie cutters and neither should your choice of a birth center be. I believe in you and support your right to a specialized birth plan that focuses on your particular needs. My journey actually started as a little girl. I truly loved playing with my favorite toy… “Baby alive”. I even breastfed her until I noticed she was not gaining any weight. Nevertheless, I believe my dream of one day becoming a Midwife was born. My passion for caring for women and families continues to grow. I pride myself on being an active participant in holistic, safe, community births. Be it Cy-fair birth center or the familiarity of your own home. I understand the importance of the relationship between clients and their environment and strive to promote self-empowerment and awareness. I have been afforded the opportunity to work with a variety of clients, backgrounds, and settings. I am here to serve and render care to a diverse population of women. I firmly believe that midwifery is a natural and nurturing approach to women’s health care throughout their lifespan.

Hi! My name is Adilah! I am native Texan through blood but born and raised overseas and mostly in Asia. I have always wanted to become a midwife since having my first born at home in NYC. Instead, I became a doula and supported many families through birth and postpartum! After moving back to Texas and giving birth to three more children at home, the time was finally right to start my schooling and apprenticeship journey in becoming a midwife. I know that each birth is different and unique to every mother and child, and I hope to support that and more for our clients at Cyfair Birth Center. Birth is intimate. We have a baby like we make a baby, and supporting our families in community birth is a journey that I am honored to be in.

At Cyfair, we know that midwives are born, not made. Traditional, nurse, and apprentice are all adjectives added by modern society to the all encompassing title of Midwife. So with that, we introduce The Midwives of Cy-Fair. Their adjectives will change over time, but their heart, their spirit, and their dedication will always remain Midwife. ❤️
