January often brings a surge of well-intentioned goals: eating “cleaner,” losing weight, exercising more, cutting out entire food groups, or being more disciplined around food. While many New Year’s resolutions are harmless or even supportive, some can quietly mask or reinforce eating disorder behaviors.

At the Coping Resource Center, we often see an increase in eating disorder referrals early in the new year, not because people suddenly develop symptoms, but because January provides socially acceptable language for restriction, control, and perfectionism.

This doesn’t mean New Year’s resolutions are inherently bad. It does mean that some deserve a closer look.

Visit our most recent blog to learn more about how January can be a risky time for eating disorders. https://copingresourcecenter.com/new-years-eating-disorder-behaviors/

At Coping Resource Center, we offer outpatient therapy for those experiencing eating disorders. We’ve also started a new support group for family members and loved ones of those struggling with an eating disorder.

We were proud to be featured again by health reporter Haley Hernandez on KPRC, highlighting our Well-Rested Program, which we’d love for you or a loved one to learn more about. Sleep is so important to our overall wellbeing, and most of us aren’t getting enough of it.

Well-Rested is a short-term, evidence-based approach to ending chronic insomnia. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), the gold standard in sleep treatment, our structured program helps you:
✨ Fall asleep faster
✨ Stay asleep longer
✨ Wake up feeling restored

We’d like to help you say goodbye to trial-and-error remedies and restless nights once and for all. Our program tackles the root causes of insomnia so you can finally reclaim your energy, focus, and life.

If you’re tired of being tired, it’s time for a breakthrough. Your well-rested life is possible.
