As we look around our barn this Thanksgiving, our hearts are so full. This year has brought us so many moments of connection, courage, healing, and hope, and we are feeling deeply, truly grateful for every person who has been a part of our story.

To everyone who has shown us love, lifted us up, believed in our mission, or simply stood by our side, thank you. Your support is felt in every session, every smile, every small victory our clients experience. You are part of the heartbeat of Special CHEERS.

We’re thankful beyond words for the incredible clients who come through our gates, the families who trust us with their loved ones, and the beautiful animals who give their hearts to this work every single day.

Howdy Everyone! 🤠 Meet Sheeba!
Her beauty and grace capture the hearts of everyone she meets. This gentle giant has a sweet, loving soul and serves as a trusted therapy partner here at Special CHEERS, working in Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy, therapy riding sessions, and couples retreats.

Sheeba was purchased from a kill pen and arrived at Special CHEERS alongside Poppie and Tater. Through patience, love, and trust, she’s blossomed into the incredible therapy horse she is today, confident, calm, and deeply connected to the people she helps. Her steady Friesian strength and rhythmic movement provide both comfort and confidence for clients of all abilities.

Howdy Friends! 🤠 Meet Hazel!

Hazel is the smallest riding and EAP pony in the Special CHEERS herd, but don’t let her size fool you! This mighty little mare has a big heart and an even bigger purpose.

Before joining SC, Hazel spent her days giving pony rides at a local restaurant, bringing joy to children and families. She’s still doing that, only now through healing and connection. She was rehomed due to her daughter Millie’s mischievous spirit, but here at SC, she’s found her true calling.

Hazel has two favorite fellas, Scout and Canciòn, and together with Pecos, they’ve formed quite the crew! Known lovingly as the She-Harem, Hazel leads the group with gentle confidence and grace.

In the SC program, Hazel partners with our littlest clients who need more sensory input to help their nervous systems regulate and focus. She also works alongside EAP clients who are exploring relationships, trust, and connection, and she does it all with her signature sweetness and calm spirit. 🐴✨

Howdy friends! 🤠 Meet Coco!
Coco is one of our incredible therapy horses here at Special CHEERS! She and her son, Ty, came to us from a rescue and have been faithfully serving our children and clients ever since.

With her broad stature and calm, rhythmic movement, Coco provides a steady base of support for riders who need extra stability, even those who may need to lay down during sessions. Her gentle, patient nature makes her especially loved by our medically complex clients, and she never flinches at suction machines or medical equipment. She’s a true caregiver at heart. 🐴✨

Howdy Everyone, meet Freedom! 🤠
Freedom is our patriotic horse with a signature booty-wiggle gait that always makes us smile! He came to Special CHEERS in critical condition after being rescued from a kill pen, battling significant health issues. But thanks to lots of love and care, Freedom has made a full recovery, and now gives back by helping our clients heal, grow, and find their own sense of freedom through our SC and EAP programs. 🐴💛
