Several patients who traveled to Matamoros, Mexico, for surgeries like liposuction since January have become infected with fungal meningitis. Immediate treatment is lifesaving.

If you had epidural anesthesia in Matamoros, Mexico, at River Side Surgical Center or Clinica K-3 from January 1 to May 13, 2023, you should go to the nearest health center, urgent care, or emergency room as soon as possible to be evaluated for fungal meningitis, even if you do not currently have symptoms.

Incredibly busy day at the Fiesta de Salud. People were lined up around the block upon opening. One of my patients informed me that she arrived at 3:30AM to make sure she was one of the first! 😮
