Houston Eye Associates covers all areas of ophthalmic and optometric care, with treatments available in all specialties and for all ages. While most of our doctors perform annual eye examinations, all Houston Eye Associates physicians are specialty trained or fellowship-trained in one or more areas. These areas of specialization include: cornea, retina, glaucoma, pediatrics, refractive/LASIK/SMILE, oculoplastics, and uveitis. Vision is one of our most precious senses and should only be trusted to the best. Our optometrists offer full-service eye and vision care including annual eye exams, prescriptions for contact lenses and glasses, pediatric eye exams, or sports eye exams. They are trained to diagnose and treat eye disorders and vision conditions like nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), astigmatism, presbyopia, cataracts, keratoconus, glaucoma, and more. They may also test a person’s ability to focus and coordinate the eyes and see depth and colors accurately. Our optometrists are licensed by the state of Texas to examine the eyes to determine the presence of vision problems and visual acuity. They also prescribe low vision aids, vision therapy and may provide pre-and post-op care for laser surgery. Our optical shops offer a wide range of designer eyewear, premier sunglasses, soft contact lenses, colored contact lenses, and specialty contact lenses that include RGPs, Hybrids, and Scleral contacts.

“I can see fine, I don’t need an eye exam.”
We hear this every single day. Then we dilate their eyes and find early signs of: macular degeneration, glaucoma pressure building, diabetic changes in the retina, or cataracts forming.
This is your reminder: If you’re over 50, annual comprehensive eye exams are essential.

We're celebrating Alejandrina today as she retires after 15 years with us.
As a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, Alejandrina dedicated a decade and a half to providing exceptional care to our patients and supporting our physicians.
In her own words: "I am excited to start this new chapter in life! Though I am sad to leave my work family and the opportunity to serve patients. I'm very grateful for the opportunity that HEA gave me to grow and learn with everything this organization has provided along with the amazing doctors."
Alejandrina, thank you for everything you've given to HEA. We're so proud of you and excited for this next chapter. Congratulations on a well-deserved retirement! 👏

Date nights don’t clock out when the sun sets — and neither should your vision.
Our ABO-certified opticians can customize your lenses with Shamir Driver Intelligence™ Moon to help reduce nighttime glare and halos, so the drive there — and back — feels just as clear and comfortable as the evening itself.
Stop by one of our optical locations and ask about upgrading your lenses for better night driving.

Remember those optical illusion books from the '90s? The ones where you had to cross your eyes to see the hidden 3D image?
That's called stereopsis—your brain combining two slightly different images from each eye to create depth perception.
It's also how you:
• Catch a baseball
• Park your car without hitting stuff
• Pour coffee without making a mess
• Navigate a crowded room
Pretty cool party trick your eyes are pulling off. Take care of them. They're doing a lot of heavy lifting.

When's the last time you had a comprehensive eye exam? 👀
If you can't remember, it's time. We can catch issues early before they become bigger problems. Plus, you deserve to see your best—whether that's at work, on the road, or just enjoying life.
Check out our new video on the RxSight Light Adjustable Lens!
If you’ve been thinking about cataract surgery, this is a game-changer. The LAL lets us customize your vision AFTER surgery—giving you the exact results you want.
Watch the video, learn more about how it works, and give us a call to schedule your consultation.
February is AMD & Low Vision Awareness Month. Age-related macular degeneration affects your central vision, making it harder to read, drive, or recognize faces. If caught early, we can slow its progression and protect your sight. If you're over 50 or have a family history, it's time for a comprehensive eye exam.
Dr. Gupta officially joined the HEA family, and we're so excited to have him! He specializes in LASIK, cataract surgery, and cornea care—helping patients see clearly without the hassle of glasses or contacts.
Ready to explore your options, ? Book an appointment with Dr. Gupta at our Houston (Gramercy) or League City locations and find out what's possible for your vision.
