Essential Peace Holistic Care Center

Essential Peace Holistic Care Center EPHCC believes in the use of massages, Reiki, and Young Living Essential Oils as natural methods to helping, and enhancing, our mind, body, and soul.

Essential Peace Holistic Care Center was created by mother and daughter, Evelyne Volny-Anne Nguyen and Adorina Stephanie Nguyen, in February 2016. Both have a strong belief that our bodies are capable of healing themselves with the right knowledge. Evelyne has been a nurse for over 20yrs and became a Reiki master in 2015. Adorina/Stephanie has been a massage therapist since 2014 and has an extensive background in dance of over 20yrs, which has aided her in the knowledge of the human body. Both have always been drawn (as well as experienced) to natural healing methods and decided to help others in the Houston area find a holistic approach to taking care of their health. For health is not just the mental and physical, but also the spiritual. When one is out of balance, so are the other two. In order to enhance each session, Evelyne and Adorina/Stephanie use 100% therapeutic-grade essential oils by Young Living. By using these therapeutic-grade essential oils, each client can be sure to get the most out of their massage and Reiki sessions. Evelyne and Adorina/Stephanie offer a FREE class on essential oils every last Saturday of the month. Visit their website for more information. Health & Happiness,

IMPORTANT INFO - PLEASE READ ENTIRELY!!

I know some of you are not big on reading emails, but PLEASE, if there is one email you ever have to read from us, it’s this one.

DISCLAIMER: If you do not read this email in its ENTIRETY, we are not held liable for any unused prepaid sessions or gift certificates.

As you may know, I’m currently 21 weeks (a little over halfway there!) pregnant. Since finding out I was pregnant back in June, there’s been a lot that I’ve had to consider with my massage business here at EPHCC. After many discussions, I have decided to retire from massaging in December.

My last day will be Saturday, Dec. 17th, we will then be closed for our usual two weeks at the end of the month for the holidays.

I did not make this decision lightly and looked at all of my options, but it came down to the fact that I would not be able to massage with a baby, and I want to be home with her for her first several years of life. Although I do appreciate those who said they wouldn’t mind if I brought her to work, let’s be honest - no one wants to hear a crying baby while they get a massage!

I also know myself well enough that I would not be able to focus if she started crying and would be distracted the whole time. I pride myself in offering great customer service and being professional, and would not be comfortable offering subpar service at the rate that we charge. As Ron Swanson said to Leslie Knope, “Never half-ass two things. Always whole-ass one thing.”

WHAT WILL HAPPEN NOW
1) We will NOT be doing our annual Black Friday Sale this year. If you bought individual sessions or bundles last year, you will now have until Dec. 17th to use those sessions before they expire.
2) If you haven’t used any of your sessions from a bundle and don’t think you’ll be able to come in to use all of them, feel free to gift those to friends and family members. Just remember that we need their name, phone number, and email in order to schedule their session.
3) If you have, or have purchased, gift certificates, PLEASE USE THEM. Reach out to those to whom you have gifted them to and see if they’ve redeemed their certificate. If they haven’t, tell them to schedule an appointment or ask if you may have it, because after Dec. 17th, those gift certificates will be useless. We’ve got about 20 unredeemed gift certificates since 2019…
4) Bundles will be removed from our online service list in order to prevent anyone from purchasing a bundle that they can’t actually use all the sessions before December. If you’d still like to purchase a bundle and want to come almost every week until then, we can always talk about it over the phone or in person!
5) If you’re currently on a membership, your membership will be canceled in November after your payment. I’ll make sure you’re booked for December so you don’t lose those sessions. As always, if you prefer to cancel earlier, we can do that as well.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT YEAR
1) We are pivoting our business and my mom, Evelyne, will be taking over!
2) We are bringing back private lamaze, childbirth, and pre/post natal classes! As a certified nurse, lactation consultant, and childbirth educator, my mom will be teaching private classes (no more than two couples at a time) at the office as well as continuing with providing Reiki. If you know anyone who is planning to get pregnant, or is currently pregnant, please let them know about this! We would greatly appreciate the referral and business.
3) The classes will begin in January 2023.
4) Our lease for the office runs until December 2023, so we will see how well we can do with my mom’s classes.

NEXT STEPS:
1) We will be reworking our website to reflect the lamaze and pre/post natal classes that will be offered next year.
2) We will be changing scheduling platforms in order to accommodate the classes, but plan to stay with MassageBook until the end of the year.

For now, I believe that is everything I can think of in regards to me retiring and our business shifting. I would be more than happy to look up your account to see if you have any sessions, bundles, or gift certificates that haven’t been used, but please reach out to me! I do not have the time to look up each person individually, nor reach out to each person right now.

Anyone with prepaids that do not schedule their sessions prior to December 17th will assume that they know, and understand, that they are losing those sessions and will not get a refund. I’ve been very diligent in reminding people about using their sessions, so this is out of my hands at this point.

Some time in November, I will send an email out with recommendations of other massage therapists to help you find another practitioner. I promise I won’t leave y’all high and dry after I leave! So be on the lookout for that email.

At the moment, I do not know if I will be returning to massage therapy after several years. Massage is a very physically demanding job and with this pregnancy, it has been even more demanding on my body. I will continue to keep my license active over the years, but I cannot say if I plan to return to it in the future. I will instead be focusing more on my real estate business since that is a job that I can do with a baby. Shameless plug: I’d be very grateful for any referrals you may have of anyone looking to buy, sell, or lease!

I would still love to keep in touch. If you’re not part of my real estate email list and would like to join, you can do that here - http://eepurl.com/hodoYH . Since we’ll be leaving MassageBook at the end of the year, I’m combining my email platforms into one. Please add your address as well since I like sending out New Years cards also! You can always add me on Instagram and Facebook as well, although I am more active on IG for sure so if you message me on FB, just expect a delay of several days.

Until next time, your massage therapist, Adorina.
