The state of Texas has now authorized the administration of COVID-19 vaccinations for people in tier 1B. This includes people over 65 and those with at least one chronic medical condition that puts them at increased risk for severe illness from coronavirus, such as but not limited to:
-Type 2 diabetes mellitus
-Cancer
-Chronic kidney disease
-COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
-Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease or cardiomyopathies
-Solid organ transplantation
-Obesity and severe obesity (body mass index of 30 kg/m2 or higher)
-Pregnancy
-Sickle cell disease
HOWEVER, each individual distribution location must wait until they deem that all people in tier 1A who want to be immunized have received the vaccine. This means not all locations will be offering the vaccine to tier 1B yet.
Use the link below to find your closest distribution location - you'll need to input your zip code. Then call to find out if this location has started to administer the vaccine to people in tier 1B. Please be aware that this may require phone calls to several nearby locations...and patience, as it may take some time to get scheduled. If you have trouble finding a location currently offering the vaccine to those in tier 1B, we recommend that you ask your preferred location if they are keeping a list and will notify you when the vaccine is available.
