ABLE Account changes for 2026 - 1) It appears annual limit for contributions to the account is not changing ($19000), but if you work, an individual with a disability can contribute up to the amount of the federal poverty rate of 1 person.
2) Age raises to 46!!!
3) Rollovers from 529 college plans is permanent - YAY - start saving for your child's future when they are young in a 529 college savings plan.
4) The Savers Credit (for eligible contributions by individuals with disabilities) is permanent and allows for a credit of up to 50% of the first $2,100 contributed, for a maximum credit of $1,050.
5) Upon death of the individual with disability, a state may file a claim for Medicaid payback AFTER other expenses are paid.

La Coalición de Asistencia para Asistentes ha detectado algunos problemas en la implementación de este aumento. Están recopilando datos y testimonios sobre las tarifas de los asistentes. The 89th Legislature authorized an attendant rate increase from $10.60 to $13 per hour for direct support professionals. The Attendant Care Coalition has noticed some issues in implementation with this pay raise. They are collecting data & stories on attendant care pay rates.
