Dr. Regina Rodman is a facial plastic surgeon who is able to treat a wide range of problems in the face and neck. She did her residency in Otolaryngology (ENT surgery) at the University of Texas Houston where she was chief resident her final year, and was voted as resident of the year for her outstanding performance. She was then selected to do advanced training in facial plastic, reconstructive and craniomaxillofacial surgery at SUNY Upstate in New York. Her fellowship is the one of the only facial plastic fellowships that focuses on craniofacial surgery as well as complex head and neck reconstruction. Because she specifically focuses on the face, she is able to perform a range of procedures that enhance both bony and soft tissue problems. “I believe that everyone deserves to feel good about the way they look. Whether someone is born with a defect, had cancer, trauma, or simply wishes to improve some aspect their face, I will work with them achieve an appearance that makes them happy. ”

Chin Implant Revision ✨ This patient came to us for a revision after having a chin implant procedure performed elsewhere. The previous implant had shifted beneath the chin instead of sitting properly on the chin bone. She is pictured 1 month post-op, and some residual swelling is still present at this stage of healing.

What procedure has more downtime than patients expect?

A lip lift 👄While the procedure is straight forward; it can swell or bruise for a week or more afterwards. The procedure is quick, it can be done in the office with local anesthesia, there is very little pain, and from a functional standpoint, patients are fine to return to work the next day (or Monday if we do it on a Friday). Patients FEEL FINE, but the lips are known to swell. Everyone is different, and some patients swell for a week, some barely swell at all. There is also a chance of brusing. The downtime from a lip lift is what we call "social downtime." Patients may return to work and light exercise within a day or so, but they should be prepared for swelling and the lip looking odd for at least a 7-10 days. Sutures will be in place for 5-7 days and the incision may be hard to cover with make up the first 10-14 days. A lip lift is my personal favorite in office procedure, and the results are totally worth it! But patient should plan social events accordingly.

Brow lift and Browbone/orbital rim reduction. Reducing the orbital rim with a browlift creates a dramatic result that appears sleek and refreshed but not overly pulled. In patients with a heavy orbital rim, a browlift alone will not reduce the fullness above the eye. Bony reduction at the same time creates a smooth, sleek, elevated appearance. Dr Rodman's technique minimizes scars and recovery is much easier than patients expect. The surgery takes specialized expertise in cosmetic bone contouring, but in Dr. Rodman's hands, patients are back to work in a week! soft, refreshed, and completely natural.
