Houston Health Foundation The Houston Health Foundation creates private-public partnerships for sustainable health and wellness

Our programming provides oral health care through Project Saving Smiles, vision screening, and eyewear through See to Succeed, access to fresh produce and nutrition education with our community gardens program as well as STD screenings at our Hip-Hop for HIV concerts. We also play a key role in ensuring families receive the support services they need to create safe and healthy environments for children to live in through our AIM initiative.

December is Safe Toys & Gifts Month. 🧸 🎁 ✅

Toddlers and young children learn and make sense of the world through play. That means we all need to ensure their environment and toys are safe and age-appropriate. Educate them on safe play, in age appropriate ways, so their experiences are fun and safe.

Last week, we were honored to celebrate See to Succeed’s longstanding partnership with the Houston Independent School District (HISD) and the support of our Visionary Sponsor, ExxonMobil.

During an appreciation celebration on Monday, we welcomed Alvin Abraham, ExxonMobil Global Manager of Corporate Giving and their Corporate Giving team for a tour of a high- impact See to Succeed mission with capacity to provide full eye exams to 275 students each day. We were delighted to be joined by Houston Independent School District Board of Managers members, Ric Campo, Angela Lemond Flowers and Janette Garza Linder.

Dean Michael Twa and Associate Dean Andrew Archila of the UH College of Optometry, a founding See to Succeed partner, presented the program with two child bicycles for STS students assembled by UHCO optometry students - just in time for the holidays!

Thanks to these incredible partnerships, over 44,000 HISD students have received eye exams and glasses that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to get, boosting attendance and academic success 👓📚

Saturdays are Sweet! Thank you to our mighty volunteers who helped us harvest 54 pounds of sweet potatoes. 🍠

The produce will bring the flavor of fall to our neighborhood senior center and area community pantries. It’s absolutely amazing what abundance a few small potato slips from Urban Harvest can yield.

Thank you everyone who contributes to this nurturing space!

Thank you FBISD (.isd) for ensuring that students who need glasses are identified and scheduled to attend the mission. It takes all of us working together. Your partnership is the first critical step in ensuring students have what they need to succeed in school and life.

A big shout out to AccessHealth () for taking the lead in Fort Bend County and to the George Foundation and the Fort Bend Community Church for supporting this broad community effort!

👓✨ For years, aramco has been an outstanding champion of the Houston Health Foundation and the See to Succeed program — helping bring vision care to children who need it most.
Since the program’s inception, See to Succeed has cared for over 122,000 students, giving them free eye exams and glasses, made possible in part due to Aramco’s unwavering support. 🎒📚

We're deeply grateful for this partnership and excited to continue working together to build brilliant futures — one child at a time. 💙
