Established in 1999, the UT Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Department's mission is to demonstrate excellence in advanced surgical care in the conduct of exceptional patient care, research, and in education for practitioners and scientists at every stage of their careers. Our faculty and research team diligently investigate new treatments in heart, lung, esophageal, and vascular diseases. We strive to create a culture of inquiry among our faculty and trainees, and continually seek the opportunity to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness in healthcare for all.
