We exist to provide charitable, educational and social opportunities for Houston area alumnae and collegiate members of the 26 NPC sororities.

For , aid HAPF in funding 40 need-based scholarships to celebrate 40 years of rewarding scholarships. These scholarships go towards tuition for women to complete their education and continue to be active leaders in their community. The day after Thanksgiving is designated as Native American Heritage Day to honor the contributions and history of Native Americans.

According to the National Library of Medicine, "In signing H.J. Res. 40 into law, President Obama stated, “I encourage every American to join me in observing Native American Heritage Day ... It is also important for all of us to understand the rich culture, tradition, and history of Native Americans and their status today, and to appreciate the contributions that First Americans have made and will continue to make to our Nation.”

On November 13th, we hosted our Annual NPC Roundtable to learn more about trends of Panhellenic sororities. Thank you to Rie Hoener, NPC Liasion, for the great presentation, Pam Jarret for opening her home to us, and Susan Fruit Draughon and her committee for putting on a wonderful event! Thank you to all who attended!

Today's features our current Foundation President! Kathy is a alumna of the Gamma Zeta chapter of Delta Gamma at LSU! This photo is from the Senior Wills event in 1974.

Kathy added this fun fact to go with the photo: "in a previous senior wills, someone willed me a pair of old shoes. Everyone laughed; I didn't get it. Fashion footwear obviously not my strong point. Still today, you can see me in the same tennis shoes nearly every day. I do replace them at least every 6 months!"

For the November General Meeting, our meeting opened with a presentation from Beth Wiedower Jackson, Executive Director of Astrodome Conservancy. Thank you Beth for taking the time to tell us about the future of the 8th Wonder of the World!

Last month, HAPF hosted its 22nd Annual Wine Tasting event honoring Debbie and Frank Jones. There were 148 attendees, 46 patrons, and 63 cork pulls that were all claimed in the first 45 minutes of the event! We could not have had a successful event without all of you and our amazing patrons! This event raised over $13,000 for scholarships! Thank you to all who contributed to this event and our wonderful chairs, Jane Tomsula and Vivienne McKitrick!
