🍅”I didn’t like tomatoes when I was little, but I kept trying. You just have to keep trying.”

🧐These well-meaning statements seem so logical to us, as adults. But if you have an extremely anxious eater, it’s hard for them to hear the logic over that VERY LOUD voice in their head known as “fear” or “anxiety.”

In my Masterclass, ARFID: The Anxious Eater, I limit attendance to just 21 professionals or parents for an optimal learning experience. And be ready…because I’m honest about how I help these kids because I understand what it’s like to have this intense type of anxiety around food. Here’s what I can tell you for sure:

✨It’s not the parents’ fault. But there are strategies that every parent & therapist can utilize that can make all the difference.

✨Reassuring an extremely anxious eater with logical statements like “You ate it last week, remember?” actually backfires. Why? Because when the fear is so loud, any sort of reassurance only reinforces the feeling of how scary this feels: “Even mom is working hard to make me feel better. There must be a reason and I should feel scared about this.” It may not make sense to us an adult, but it’s a well known fact with top experts in anxiety/anxiety disorders. We learn more about it in my Masterclass.
