Founded in 1991, The Carruth Center is a private, multidisciplinary clinic offering an array of assessment and therapeutic services. The Carruth Center therapists are a group of highly trained professionals in the areas of neuropsychology, psychology, speech language pathology, occupational therapy and licensed professional counselors. Our staff specializes in the evaluation and treatment of children in the areas of learning, emotional, behavioral, attention, neurological, communication and /or developmental concerns. I encourage you to find out more about each member of Staff and their specialties. Also, check out our Services for all of the programming offered at The Carruth Center. The clinic offers comprehensive developmental assessments, individual speech and language and occupational therapy, as well as individual and group psychological services. The clinic’s unique programs also include our Language Development Class (LDC) for children with emergent language skills, and social-emotional therapy groups, which focus on appropriate, play skills, peer interaction and problem solving skills. Work at Camp SOCIAL this summer! ⛺️

The Carruth Center is looking for overnight camp counselors to work Camp SOCIAL this summer from July 5-10 at Camp For All in Burton, TX. This individual will provide direct care and supervision for our campers in an overnight setting and play a vital role in creating a safe and inclusive camp experience.

Happy to attend the Speech Sound Disorder Symposium 🧠

This past weekend, four Carruth speech-language pathologists traveled to Fairfield, New Jersey for the second annual Speech Sound Disorder Symposium! They learned from cutting edge researchers and master clincians how to best help children with apraxia and other speech sound disorders.

Our SLPs learned so much, and we wanted to thank Dr. Aravind Namasivyam (Aravind Kumar), Dr. Jenn Moore (Drmoorespeech), Meredith Avren (Peachie Speechie), Dr. Jenya Iuzinni-Seigel, Dr. Ignatius G. S. Nip and Julie Berry for sharing your expertise and insight!

Honoring World Down Syndrome Day 💙💛

Today, we commemorate – a chromosomal condition that affects one in every 640 babies in the U.S. – by revisiting an episode from Unbabbled, where Ali Allawala and Farzeen Ali spoke about their innovative and inspiring work to support families and individuals with Down syndrome. Ali and Farzeen are co-founders of The Karachi Down Syndrome Program (KDSP), a non-profit organization in Karachi, Pakistan, whose mission is to advocate the value, acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome.
