A beautiful testament to dedicated care:
a client's wife called our office, frantically worried about her forgotten doctor's appointment and lack of arranged care for her husband. Before we could offer a solution, she showed her own care for others by offering to reschedule. Our manager's response was immediate and heartfelt: 'Get ready for your appointment, I'll be there in 30 minutes to care for your husband.' The result was a triumph of care and compassion, with the wife attending her appointment and her husband receiving dedicated care.

Today, we celebrate the birth of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

As one of the leaders of the Civil Rights Movement, Dr. King’s activism led to groundbreaking legislative reforms against Jim Crow laws and other legalized forms of racism.

On this day, we honor Dr. King’s legacy as a day of service, where people are urged to give back to their communities and reflect on how they are creating an equitable and inclusive environment.

As Dr. King said, “Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

This MLK Day, we honor Dr. King not just with words, but with action. Volunteering with Meals on Wheels is a simple yet powerful way to answer that call—by delivering meals, checking in and ensuring seniors can age with dignity and independence.

We love to see our caregivers take the initiative to improve the lives of their clients and take care of their fellow colleagues as well. Today, Mrs. Adrienne sent us a detailed, step-by-step instruction sheet to help fill-in caregivers be better prepared to provide excellent care to the client.
When asked why she did it, she said, “I think it’s important to have this for each client so that whenever there is some sort of gap in workers, the next one to come along can familiarize themselves with the standard of doing things, versus the client trying to restructure their day-to-day around the new worker, especially when dealing with someone who has dementia.” You are a caring, kind, and loving rockstar, Adrienne.
Thank you for what you do to improve the lives of the seniors we have been called to serve.
