Child Tax Credit Update Portal will now allow individuals to make changes to their Income for Advance Child Tax Credit Payments
As of today (November 1), a new feature has been added to the IRS Child Tax Credit Update Portal. The new feature will allow individuals to make changes to their income for 2021 for purposes of the advance child tax credit payments for the remaining two months of this year.
For any income changes to go into effect for the upcoming November 15 payment an individual must make the change by midnight tonight. If an individual is unable to make the change by tonight, then any changes to income that are made between November 2 and November 29 will go into effect for the December 15 advance child tax credit payment.
Also, remember that today is the deadline for making any changes the taxpayer wishes to make for the November 15 payment such as bank account information, address change or to opt-out of receiving changes.
