The Dalai Doula

Hi! The names Emily Adams and I am a birth doula certifying with DONA.

As The Dalai Doula I provide non-medical physical, emotional, and informational support to expecting women. Whether you chose to birth at home, in a birth center, or at a hospital I am here to support YOU and your birth desires.

Research shows that women who have a birth doula present at their labor are:

less likely to need pitocin

less likely to have a cesarean birth

less likely to use pain medication

more likely to rate their childbirth experience positively

Some of the ways The Dalai Doula can support you during pregnancy and birth is by providing a safe non-judgmental space to express your emotional needs like: talking about how you are feeling, words of affirmation, and encouragement.

Physical support such as bringing awareness to comfort measures in labor like breathing techniques, different laboring positions, acupressure, aromatherapy, and continuous support during your birth.

Informational support like evidence based research, constructing a birth plan, options in pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum.
