Take a look at this patient.

She traveled across the country for a consultation.

She had a previous lip lift but remained unhappy with her lip size.

She requested a secondary revision upper lip lift and a lower lip lift.

I tried extensively to convince her against this procedure.

I asked her perhaps twenty or thirty times if this was truly what she wanted.

She convinced me.

This was her aesthetic.
This is what she liked.
This is what she wanted.

I performed the revision upper lip lift and a lower lip lift.

If asked bluntly what I think of her results?

From a surgical standpoint, the results look good.

But perhaps they are a little too much for my personal taste.

The patient, however, is perfectly content.
She is extremely happy.

This experience taught me a powerful lesson.

Lips are very personal.

I must always take into account the patient's individual aesthetic.

Not just my own overall aesthetic when making these decisions.
