Threads of the Eternal

Love is older than the names we give it.
It moves beneath language,
like an underground river
remembering the sea.
It recognizes you
before you recognize yourself.
It traces the invisible thread
between two breaths
and calls it belonging.
Love does not hurry.
It circles through lifetimes of longing,
through forgotten doors and familiar eyes.
It waits in the quiet spaces
where fear loosens its grip.
You think you choose love,
but sometimes it is love
that has been walking toward you
through centuries of dust and starlight,
until it stands before you and
you recognize it the way a soul recognizes home,
without proof, without question,
and you step into a world
that has always been waiting for you.
