🙌🏽 The massage industry is growing as more and more research proves massage therapy is an essential part of healthcare!

A Licensed Massage Therapist is properly trained on how to:
✨️ safely manipulate soft tissue without injuring someone or making pain worse
✨️ recognize contraindications like blood clots, surgical hardware, and acute injuries
✨️ work with the nervous system without overstimulating it
✨️ modify techniques for medical conditions, chronic pain and artificial joints
✨️ handle emotional or trauma releases professionally
✨️ understand anatomy, pathology, and when not to treat

Turning the lights down, putting on a relaxation playlist, and using random modalities doesn’t magically make it bodywork 🙃

As a Licensed Massage Therapist, being trusted to professionally work with soft tissue, joints, nerves, circulation, and the nervous system is more than just the license..it is an honor 🫶🏼

What no one tells you about being a massage therapist…
Clients come in like:
“Just my neck and shoulders today.”
Ten minutes later face-down confessing things that should probably involve a lawyer, therapist or restraining order. People get cozy and suddenly start dumping:
• childhood trauma
• the neighbor’s affair
• their sister stealing money in 2009
• a full episode of Real Housewives: Rural Edition

I’m back here like:
“…I just asked if the pressure was okay…and also WHAT DID HE SAY AFTER THAT??”
The problem though?
Clients ALWAYS drop the most unhinged cliffhanger with 20 seconds left!
“So that’s when I found out I had accidentally hit 'Reply All'.”
So now I have to wait an entire week to find out:
• who's car got keyed
• who called HR
• who got arrested
• how the wedding went

Being a massage therapist is basically watching 40 different soap operas…one episode per week…with zero control over the plot - and I love every second of it!!
