🚨Graco SnugRide Turn & Slide Recall!🚨

This recall announcement made its way around the internet a while ago, but the official NHTSA notice came out today.

This recall is ONLY for the Turn & Slide model, and ONLY affects the base. This is a stop use recall. Discontinue use of this base immediately. The carrier portion can still be safely installed with the vehicle seat belt.

As always, make sure your car seat is registered no matter what brand or model it is!

Have you heard all the fuss about head restraints in Car Seat Land? They're one of the biggest problems with car seat and vehicle compatibility, and a little-known one, at that!

When CPSTs say that the best car seat is the one that fits your child, fits your vehicle, and that you can use correctly every time, the head rest situation is a big component of "fits your vehicle."

Vehicle head rests that are angled forward were designed with adult safety in mind, but they can be a big issue for car seats and booster seats. Don't let this catch you by surprise!

It's tiiiiime! It feels like we've been waiting on this announcement forever, but the Target Trade-In event is finally back!

This can be a great opportunity to get a deal on a new car seat if you're in the market, but don't base your decision on a tempting price alone.

👍Will several options work for you? Probably!

👍Will they keep your child safe? Yes, when used correctly!

👍Are there better choice for most individual situations that can end up saving you money in the long run? Usually!

It's probably not going to be quick or easy, and you'll need the right team for the job! Have you conquered a 3 across challenge?

3 across is an ever-increasing need I encounter as a CPST, and let's be honest, most vehicles just aren't built for it. Fortunately, car seat manufacturers are listening and we have some great narrow options on the market now, including the brand new Chicco Fit3X.

I always recommend working with a CPST, at least virtually if in person is not possible), for any 3 across setup (and let's be honest, for any car seat in general!). There are so many extra considerations for choosing the correct seats and getting them installed safely!
