🌟 Welcome, Scott! 🌟

We’re excited to welcome our newest therapist, Scott, to the Comprehensive Counseling Center team!

Scott is a Licensed Associate Counselor in the state of New Jersey and is currently working toward his Licensed Professional Counselor credential. He earned his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rider University and brings valuable experience supporting clients through depression, anxiety, and addiction.

Scott integrates a variety of therapeutic approaches — including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy — to meet each client where they are on their journey. He works primarily with clients ages 18 and older and is also looking forward to working with couples.

🤔 “What do therapy sessions actually look like?”
If you’ve ever wondered that—you’re not alone. Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you don’t know what to expect. Let’s break it down step-by-step so you know exactly what happens:
🧾 Step 1: Talk with Dominique
After calling or emailing our office, you’ll start by chatting with our amazing office manager, Dominique. She’ll collect some basic info—like your demographics, insurance details, and a little about what’s bringing you to therapy. This helps her match you with the best-fit therapist for your needs.
📞 Step 2: Connect with your therapist
Once matched, your therapist will give you a call to schedule your first appointment. This is a great time to ask any questions or share more about yourself, if you feel comfortable.
🖥️🏠 Step 3: Get set up
After scheduling, you’ll receive some forms to complete. Then it’s time for your session—either in person at one of our cozy offices, or from the comfort of your home via a secure virtual session.
🛋️ Step 4: The first session (a.k.a. the intake)
During this first meeting, your therapist will get to know you—asking about your background, current challenges, and what you'd like to work on. It’s all about laying the groundwork in a safe, supportive space.
💬 No matter who you meet with at CCC, you’ll be welcomed by someone who is kind, compassionate, and non-judgmental.
Taking the first step can feel tough—but you don’t have to do it alone. We’re here when you’re ready.

🌟 Our Mental Health Day Camp was a huge success! 🌟
We had such a joyful, mindful, and meaningful day with our amazing campers, here are some of the highlights:

💬 Making name bracelets while connecting over shared interests
🌬 Practicing calming breaths with bubble blowing fun in the sunshine
🧘‍♀️ Stretching into animal yoga poses (yes, our monster emotion stuffies joined in!)
🎨 Creating personalized coping skills boxes filled with fidgets, affirmation cards, and more tools for tough moments
🍕 And of course... PIZZA. Because self-care comes in many forms! 😄

✨ We're so grateful to Samantha Staiti, LAC and Jamie Ponticello, LSW for leading the event and the campers who joined us and made the day special.
