💀 You’ve got a skeleton inside you. Right now.

And if that’s not creepy enough…

🩸 Your bones are secretly making blood. Inside the marrow is where your red and white blood cells are born — your skeleton’s basically running a hidden blood factory.

💀 Your skeleton isn’t permanent. It rebuilds itself every 10 years. So technically, you’ve had a few different skeletons over your lifetime.

🪦 And fun fact: bones can still shift a little after you die (thanks to tissue drying out and shrinking). So yeah… skeletons can move on their own. Just not for long.

Stay hydrated. Keep your skeleton happy.

Every year around this time, I start to see the same thing happen —
shoulders creeping up, backs getting stiff, and everyone saying “I’ll book when it gets bad again.”

I just told my husband the other day that I hate how constricted the cold weather makes me feel.

Don’t wait until your body’s yelling.
This is your reminder that maintenance beats recovery — every single time.

𝗜𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁.
😳

Here’s the thing — it 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 feel like I care, because, I 𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 care.

A client said this to me the other day, and I almost had no words.
What she said was: I know this is your job, and that I’m paying you money to care, but it feels like you actually care, and I appreciate that.

Her: it’s the vibe I’ve gotten from other places I’ve been.

My response: you’ve been rebooking with me for over two years, if I didn’t 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 care, you would know — you would feel it. You pay me for the work, you don’t pay me for the genuine human emotion of caring. That part is free. When you leave here I don’t forget about you. Three days from now I will think of you and hope that you’re still feeling amazing.

I do genuinely care.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆?

That’s a question I ask on every intake form.

“Are you more focused on relaxation — or on addressing a specific area of concern?”

And a lot of the time, the answer is… both.

The other day I had a new client come in.
Neck, shoulder, and upper back pain. Old injury, made worse by stress.
She marked “tissue work” as her top priority — but also said she needed a mental break.

In her notes, she wrote:
“I don’t really know what I’m looking for. I need help with the pain… but I also just need a break. I’m really looking forward to having 90 minutes completely to myself.”

When she got here, she told me more.
High-pressure job.
A husband dealing with mental health issues.
Two kids.
And that feels so heavy.

Sometimes “I need deep work” and “I need rest” aren’t in conflict — they’re both true.

It’s about not being needed for a little while.
It’s about someone taking care of you.

That’s the priority.

I’ve been slowly moving away from calling what I do “deep tissue.”
Actually, I see a lot of massage therapists doing the same — and I’m glad that’s the vibe we’re taking into 2026.

Not because the work isn’t deep (it absolutely is), but because what most people think that means isn’t what I actually do.

For a lot of people, “deep tissue” means intense, painful, or aggressive pressure.
But depth isn’t about force — it’s about effectiveness.

Working slow gives your nervous system time to adjust.
Working with intention lets the fascia actually respond.
Working smarter keeps both of us from burning out.

So if you come in looking for “deep tissue,” you’ll still get depth — but it’ll be the kind that helps your body release, not brace.

🦶🏻 I’m focused on creating pressure your body can actually receive.
And that’s the difference

“It’s nothing, it’s just a little annoying.”

I hear this often during check-ins. Usually followed by a shrug, as if what you’re feeling is actually nothing.
“It’s not painful.”
“It doesn’t stop me.”
“It’s just annoying.”

When I started noticing this pattern, I wanted to know why people do this.
👉 Tough-it-out conditioning.
Many of us were raised to believe you don’t complain unless something’s really bad. If it’s not excruciating, we convince ourselves it doesn’t count.
👉 Fear of looking weak… or admitting you’re aging.
For athletes, lifters, and honestly a lot of adults in general, admitting something feels off can feel like admitting you’re slipping, aging, or not as capable as you used to be. It’s easier to brush it off than to face what it might mean.

Here’s the truth:
Those “annoying little things” are often the first signs something in your body is asking for help. And if you’ve walked through my door, you’ve done so for a reason.

So let’s address it.

When older people say, “Enjoy them while they’re young”—they’re talking about your knees and hips.

I’ve been dealing with hip pain for about a month or two now.
And like a lot of you, I’ve tried the whole lineup: massage, chiropractor, mobility work.

Here’s the truth—massage helps, chiropractic helps, but the thing that’s making the biggest difference? Consistent mobility work.

Because pain isn’t always about something being “out of place.”
A lot of the time, it’s about something not moving the way it should.

👉 Massage helps reduce tension, calm the nervous system, and make it easier for those joints to move.
👉 Mobility work keeps the changes going once you’re off the table.

If your hips (or knees, or back) are yelling at you—don’t wait until it’s a daily struggle. Massage + mobility is one of the simplest ways to keep your body from feeling older than it is.
