This morning Squad 111, Tanker 112 and Fire Police 115 responded as a pd request to assist at property damage mva. Members assisted with traffic control and securing vehicles to get the roadway reopened.

On behalf of the Howells Fire Company, we extend our deepest condolences on the passing of Past Chief Philip J. Hoeffner. His 52 years of dedicated service to the Montgomery Fire Department and the community stand as a true testament to his commitment, leadership, and devotion to the fire service brotherhood. Chief Hoeffner’s legacy will be remembered with great respect and gratitude. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Linda, his daughters Elizabeth, Frances, Theresa, and Josephine, and the entire Montgomery Fire Department family during this difficult time.

The Howells Fire Police have received some new equipment thanks to David M. Hoovler Orange County DA fire police grant. The fire police were able to obtain more cones and new traffic wands to increase their safety while operating at fire scenes. This equipment will be well used by our dedicated fire police squad while operating on fire scenes.

Yesterday evening at 7:35pm Howells units were dispatched to a reported structure fire (smoke in the house) units arrived on scene and investigated the situation and located a faulty cooking stove and isolated it. Units were assisted on scene by Middletown Fire Department ladder 131, Wawayanda Fire Company - Slate Hill Fire Department fast team and Bloomingburg Fire Company tanker 62-32. Thank you to those who responded and assisted on scene.
