**High Fire Risk today**

All fine dead fuels ignite readily and fires start easily from most causes. Unattended brush and campfires are likely to escape. Fires spread rapidly and short-distance spotting is common. High-intensity burning may develop on slopes or in concentrations of fine fuels. Fires may become serious and their control difficult unless they are attacked successfully while small.

The NYS Burn Ban is still in effect till May 14th.

Tomorrow, March 16th, the annual burn ban goes into effect across New York State to help prevent wildfires during the high-risk spring season. Open burning of brush and debris is prohibited from through May 14. These temporary restrictions help protect our communities, first responders, and natural resources by reducing the risk of rapidly spreading brush fires.

For detailed information regarding the contents of the burn ban, visit https://dec.ny.gov/environmental-protection/air-quality/open-burning.

Stay safe and help keep Orange County wildfire-free this Spring.
