🌦️ This Week: Weather! 🌦️
This week our children are exploring the wonders of weather through hands-on learning, creativity, and movement! From rain to sunshine, we are discovering how weather shapes our world. ☀️🌧️🌬️❄️

📚 Language & Literacy:
We are strengthening vocabulary and comprehension through our monthly skill builder, weather-themed stories, and fun activities like letter matching with clouds and raindrops.

🌧️ Science & Discovery:
Our little scientists are experimenting with rain collection, exploring what the wind can blow, and observing how weather changes around us. We’re learning through hands-on discovery and real-world connections!

🎵 Music & Movement:
Children are singing songs about raindrops, wind, sunshine, and snow while engaging in movement games like jumping in puddles, parachute play, and even “ice skating!”

🎨 Creative Arts:
We’re getting creative with weather-inspired projects like rain drop painting, wind socks, storm clouds, sun-dyed paper, and ice painting—exploring how weather can inspire art!

🔢 Math Concepts:
Through activities like voting on favorite weather and measuring rainfall, children are building early math skills such as counting, comparing, and observing patterns.

🤝 Social-Emotional:
We are having important conversations about weather safety, especially how storms can feel and what we can do to stay safe and calm.

✋ Fine Motor & Sensory:
From droppers and painting to puzzles and sensory play like making “snow,” children are strengthening fine motor skills while exploring new textures and materials.

🏃‍♀️ Gross Motor Play:
Outdoor play includes pretending storms are coming—running, hiding, and engaging in imaginative movement activities that build coordination and teamwork!

It’s a week full of curiosity, creativity, and discovery as we explore all types of weather together! 💛🌦️

🍁 123 Grow Community Vote! 🍁

As sugaring season comes to an end, I have been reflecting on how special this time of year is here in New England. From tapping maple trees to enjoying fresh maple syrup, it’s such a rich, hands-on learning experience for children!

I have been thinking about introducing a “Maple Sugaring” curriculum next year at 123 Grow, and would love your input!

This special unit would include:
🍁 Learning about maple trees and how sap is collected
🍁 Exploring real taps and tubing
🍁 Sampling sap (“sugar water”)
🍁 Watching the process through pictures and short video clips
🍁 And of course… tasting real maple syrup!

It’s a fun and educational way to connect children to nature, science, and local traditions.

✨ Would you like to see this added to our curriculum next year?
Drop a 👎, 👍, ❤️, or comment below to let us know your thoughts!
