Getting crafty

Naval Officers with 2nd Medical Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group participate in the officer field craft course hosted by officers and staff noncommissioned officers from 2nd Medical Battalion.

The field craft course enables medical, dental, nurse, and medical service corps officers to gain competence and confidence in skills utilized by the Marine Corps that will enhance performance in the field. Courses offered included land navigation fundamentals, camouflage, concealment, utilization of night vision, and patrolling. For staff corps officers reporting to Marine Corps units, there is no formal preparatory course covering the skills and knowledge needed, so Capt Megan Bogard has developed a course to provide much needed practice prior to participation on battalion field operations. The field craft course is open to all naval officers with 2nd Marine Logistics Group.
