Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home

Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home Providing Hudson with seamless, full-service funeral and cremation services since 1970. These sections are still available for flat memorials.

Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home was founded in 1970 by Melvin Scherer, a retired Air Force colonel who invested in real estate in the early 1960s. As a community resident who attended many services at Hudson Cemetery, he recognized the need for a new cemetery for the community. At Grace Memorial, the main goal was to have a respectful, peaceful place to honor loved ones – one that would always be maintained. This was best accomplished in the 1970s by creating sections that were specific to a faith or organization. In the 1980s, mausoleum entombment became a prominent request. Today, the cemetery features five mausoleum complexes.

Preplanning isn’t tied to age; it’s tied to love. 🌿

It’s one of the kindest ways to make sure your family has guidance when they’ll need it most.

If it’s been on your mind, we’d be honored to help you explore your options with compassion and clarity.

V.M., thank you for sharing how the staff guided your family.

On a day full of emotion, having someone who thinks of every detail, prayer cards, photos, and music, can soften the weight in ways words rarely capture. We’re grateful she could make a hard day feel a little more bearable. 🌿

Planning ahead isn’t about paying for everything today; it’s about making a few choices and sharing them.

You can record preferences now and explore payment options later. If life takes you somewhere new, plans can often be transferred to another funeral home that accepts the contract. Most of all, starting the conversation now eases decisions for those you love. 🌿
