That "sciatica" everyone keeps diagnosing you with?...It's probably not sciatica.

True sciatica is nerve compression at the lumbar spine—usually from a herniated disc or spinal stenosis. It's actually pretty rare.

What you're experiencing 90% of the time is REFERRAL PAIN that mimics sciatica but comes from completely different sources:
SI Joint Dysfunction - When your sacroiliac joint (where your pelvis meets your spine) is misaligned or inflamed, it refers pain down your leg that feels identical to sciatica. Shooting pain, burning, numbness—all the same symptoms, different source.

Piriformis Syndrome - Your piriformis muscle sits right on top of your sciatic nerve. When it's tight or spasming (often from pelvic misalignment), it compresses the nerve and creates sciatica-like symptoms. But it's a MUSCLE problem, not a nerve root problem.

Pelvic Imbalance - Pregnancy, falls, repetitive movements, poor posture—these create pelvic imbalances that put pressure on nerves and refer pain down the leg.

Here's why this matters:
If you're treating true sciatica when you actually have SI joint dysfunction, you're chasing the WRONG THING. Anti-inflammatories, nerve pain medication, even surgery—none of it will fix a mechanical pelvic problem.

Chiropractic adjustments address the ROOT cause. We assess whether it's your SI joint, your piriformis, your pelvis, or actual nerve compression—and we correct the dysfunction at the source.
We've seen countless people told they have "chronic sciatica" experience complete relief after we adjusted their pelvis and SI joint. Because it was never sciatica in the first place.

Let us help you get to the root.

Mamas, we see you!

Up every hour. Walking the halls at 3am. Holding your screaming baby upright for hours because laying them down means pain. Watching them arch their back, spit up constantly, refused to eat, and cry inconsolably.

You’ve tried everything:
- Reflux medication that barely helps
- Four different formulas
- Elevated bassinet sleeping
- Smaller, more frequent feeds
- Cutting out dairy, soy, and everything from your diet

And nothing is working.

Your baby’s reflux isn’t just a stomach problem, it’s a stressed out nervous system.

The vagus nerve (cranial nerve x) controls the valve between your baby’s esophagus and stomach. It tells that valve when to open, when to close, and how to coordinate digestion with breathing and swallowing.

When there’s a subluxation (misalignment) at C1 or C2 - which is incredibly common from birth trauma, even in “easy” births - it creates interference in vagus nerve function.

That interference means:
❌ The stomach valve doesn’t close properly
❌ Digestion is disrupted
❌ Their body stays in fight-or-flight mode
❌ They can’t calm down or relax enough to keep food down

Your baby isn’t broken. Their medication doesn’t need adjusting. They don’t need a new formula.
They need their nervous system checked by a pediatric chiropractor.

✨Gentle chiropractic adjustments (pressure so light you could check a tomato for ripeness) remove the subluxation at C1/C2.

When we restore proper vagus nerve function, babies’ bodies can:
✅ Close the stomach valve appropriately
✅ Digest food properly
✅ Shift out of stress mode
✅ Actually relax and sleep

We’ve seen countless “reflux babies” experience complete relief within 1-3 adjustments. Not because we treated reflux, but because we removed the nervous system interference preventing their body from functioning properly.

Medication masks symptoms while chiropractic addresses the ROOT cause!

🤱🏻Mama, you’ve been doing everything right. You just needed someone to look at the whole system - not just the stomach. We’ve got you!

You've been lied to about postpartum recovery.

"Six weeks and you're cleared!" they say.
As if your body just magically returns to its pre-pregnancy state. As if nine months of massive physical transformation and the most intense event of your life can be undone in 42 days.

The reality is: 6 weeks postpartum is when your uterus has shrunk back and your bleeding has (mostly) stopped. That's it.

It is NOT when:
Your pelvic floor is fully restored
Your core has reconnected
Your nervous system has regulated
Your hormones have rebalanced
Your spine has realigned
You've actually healed

ACTUAL postpartum recovery? 6 to 12+ months. Sometimes longer.

And here's what your body actually needs during that time:
1. Nervous System Support (3-6 months minimum)
You spent 9 months with elevated stress hormones and then went through the most physically intense experience of your life. Your nervous system needs help shifting OUT of survival mode so it can support hormone regulation, deep healing, and true recovery.
2. Physical Balance (3-12 months)
Your pelvis expanded, your spine curved forward, your ribs flared, your organs shifted, and your ligaments stretched. None of that just "snaps back." Regular chiropractic adjustments help restore balance, support core reconnection, and prevent chronic pain patterns from setting in.

3. Hormone Rebalancing (6-18 months)
Estrogen and progesterone plummet. Prolactin surges if you're breastfeeding. Oxytocin floods and cortisol tries to regulate. These massive shifts affect your sleep, mood, energy, weight, and healing capacity. Nervous system care supports your body's ability to navigate this transition naturally.

The 6-week mark isn't the finish line. It's barely the starting line.

You didn't "bounce back." You TRANSFORMED.
Your body performed miracles—and it deserves the time, support, and care to heal properly.

Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day!

Giving, receiving, and even witnessing kindness not only boosts our mood and lowers our stress, but it has physical benefits as well.

What is going on in the body while we’re helping someone pick up the papers they dropped or buying a colleague coffee? A lot of the physical effects stem from the release of what is known as the “love hormone” or “cuddle chemical,” oxytocin.

Oxytocin is an important component of many “feel-good” life experiences such as friendship, trust, mother-infant bonding, and love. Oxytocin gives us a feeling of wellbeing and satisfaction. It reduces our stress levels too!

When kindness is given, received, or witnessed, all parties get that surge of oxytocin. They all feel good!

Another great way to get that oxytocin boost is to go see your chiropractor. Yes, beyond showing yourself kindness by taking great care of your spine and nervous system, studies have shown that chiropractic adjustments create a significant release of oxytocin. So don’t forget that being kind to yourself counts!

"Dear Nervous System,
You've carried me through every hard conversation, sleepless night, heartbreak, and overwhelming day. You've kept my heart beating, my lungs breathing, my body healing, even when I didn't give you the support you deserved.

This year, I want to say thank you and I want to show you some love."

Here are 5 ways to care for your nervous system this month (and every month):

1. Get Adjusted Regularly
Remove the interference. Restore clear communication between your brain and body. Give yourself the foundation for optimal function.

2. Prioritize Deep Sleep
Your nervous system repairs and resets during sleep. 7-9 hours isn't indulgent, it's essential for hormone regulation, mood stability, and healing.

3. Practice Breathwork
Deep, intentional breathing activates your vagus nerve and shifts you out of fight-or-flight mode. Try 4-7-8 breathing: inhale for 4, hold for 7, exhale for 8. Instant reset.

4. Move Your Body Gently
Walking, stretching, yoga—gentle movement signals SAFETY to your nervous system. You don't need intense workouts. You need joyful, consistent movement.

5. Connect with Safe People
Your nervous system co-regulates with others. Hugs, laughter, deep conversations, these tell your brain you're safe. You're wired for connection. Let yourself receive it.

Your nervous system is your lifeline. It controls everything: how you sleep, heal, digest, handle stress, and show up in the world.

This Valentine's Day, instead of just celebrating romantic love, let's celebrate the incredible system that makes it all possible!

You’re not just sharing a home, a bed, a routine, or a calendar. You’re sharing a nervous system!

When you walk in the door stressed from work, their body feels it. When their anxiety spikes, your cortisol rises. When one of you can’t sleep, neither can the other. When tension lives in your shoulders, it shows up in their gut.

When your energy doesn’t just affect you - it becomes theirs. And theirs becomes yours.
This is nervous system called co-regulation. And it’s especially critical when you’re trying to build a family together.

BETTER PARTNERSHIP
When one partner is stuck in fight-or-flight, the other mirrors the stress or tries to compensate. You can’t regulate alone in a shared nervous system.

BETTER SELF
When your partner’s nervous system is regulated, yours can finally rest.

FOR HER: When her nervous system shifts out of survival mode, her body can ovulate regularly, maintain healthy progesterone, create an optimal environment for conception, carry pregnancy with ease, and recover postpartum.

FOR HIM: When his nervous system is supported, his body can produce healthy testosterone, improve s***m quality, regulate stress hormones, sleep deeply, and show up emotionally regulated.

You can’t thrive individually when your shared nervous system is maxed out.

BETTER PARENTHOOD
Your baby inherits your nervous system patterns-not just DNA. In utero, they’re shaped by both parents’ stress levels. After birth, they co-regulate with you constantly.
When both partners get adjusted, fertility struggles often resolve, pregnancies feel smoother, recovery is faster, and baby’s nervous system starts regulated.

Not because we “treated” anything. Because we supported the shared nervous system that controls everything.

Our partner’s stress becomes yours.
Their tension becomes yours.
Their healing becomes yours. This isn’t codependency - it’s biology.

When you both get adjusted, you create a shared environment where both nervous systems can downregulate, communicate clearly, and do what they’re designed to do - adapt, heal, and create life together.

The room won't stop spinning. You feel like you're on a boat.

Simple tasks like standing up makes you nauseous or turning your head triggers episodes that last hours or days.

Your brain uses three systems to know where you are in space:

1. Vestibular system (inner ear) - detects head movement
2. Visual system (eyes) - sees your position relative to surroundings
3. Proprioceptive system (spine and joints) - feels your body's position

When these three systems send matching signals, your brain knows exactly where you are. When the signals don't match, your brain gets confused—and that confusion is vertigo.

Your upper neck (cervical spine) sends MORE proprioceptive signals to your brain than any other area of your body. These signals tell your brain where your head is positioned at all times.

When C1 or C2 is subluxated (imbalanced), your brain receives WRONG information about where your head is. The proprioceptive signals don't match what your inner ear and eyes are reporting, and your brain panics. This causes the room to spin.

Upper cervical subluxations also affect your brainstem—where all balance information is processed. This disrupts vestibular nucleus function, communication between balance centers, blood flow to the inner ear, and vagus nerve regulation (which is why you feel nauseous).

Your balance system can't integrate information properly, even if your inner ear is structurally fine.

Upper cervical adjustments by a trained chiropractor restore accurate proprioceptive input from your neck to your brain. After an upper neck adjustment:
✅ Your brain receives correct information about head position
✅ Signals match between all three balance systems
✅ Brainstem function improves
✅ Vertigo resolves

If Epley maneuvers aren't working, if medications barely help, if it keeps coming back—your inner ear might not be the problem. Your upper cervical spine is.

"When should I get my baby checked?"

As soon as possible!

Your baby's first year is the most neurologically active time of their entire life. Their brain is forming 1 million neural connections PER SECOND. Their nervous system is learning how to regulate everything: digestion, sleep, immune response, movement, emotional regulation.

But birth (even the "easy" ones) is incredibly physical. The pressure, pulling, twisting, and compression that happens during delivery can create tension and imbalances in your baby's delicate spine, especially in the upper neck.

This interference can show up as:
-Colic and excessive crying
-Difficulty latching or nursing on one side
-Torticollis (head tilting/preference)
-Reflux and digestive issues
-Sleep struggles
-Developmental delays in rolling, crawling, sitting

When we check babies (as early as hours or days old), we're not "fixing" them. We're removing any interference in their nervous system so their body can develop, heal, and grow the way it's meant to.

Gentle, specific adjustments support:
✨ Proper brain-body communication
✨ Optimal digestion and sleep
✨ Immune system development
✨ Motor skill progression
✨ Emotional regulation

The earlier you support your baby's nervous system, the stronger their foundation for lifelong health.

Your baby's nervous system is their lifeline. Make sure it's functioning at 100% from day one.

📍 Schedule your newborn's first check. We make it gentle, quick, and stress-free for your whole family.
