Dr. Erce Phillips received his Bachelors degree from the University of Florida, a Masters degree from San Diego State University and his Chiropractic degree from Palmer West. He has published articles in the conditioning field, and is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is a former state and national bodybuilding competitor and has participated in International Rugby, half-marathons and open water swimming, including the “Alcatraz swim”. Stretch of the day!

Neck tilt stretch

1. Sit or stand, keeping your spine aligned.

2. Slowly tilt your head to the right, bringing your ear towards your right shoulder. Don’t lift your shoulder up; just let the head tilt.

3. You should feel a stretch along the left side of your neck.

4. Hold for 15- 30 seconds, then slowly return to neutral.

5. Repeat on the left side.

If you spend time on your phone or computer, be aware of your head position. For every inch, your head moves forward, it adds 10 pounds of strain on your spine. 
Tip-
Keep your screens at eye level, and use your eyes to look down- not your neck. This reduces tension in the neck, upper back, and shoulders.
