Is your massage therapist licensed? Believe it or not, most states, including Ohio, allow unlicensed individuals to practice relaxation massage therapy. In fact, there is a difference between a certified massage therapist and a licensed massage therapist. Aside from the hours of training and school an individual must complete to become a licensed massage therapist, or LMT, you also take a rigorous exam and go through a background check to obtain your license from the state medical board. If you are in search of trained and licensed professionals, you do want to inquire as to their level of training. At Reiki Hudson, all of our therapists are certified LMT‘s and licensed by the state medical board. This means you can be assured that the level of massage you are receiving is top notch, we are licensed and insured, and you will always receive the highest level of therapeutic care from individuals who trained not only in massage therapy but anatomy and physiology as well.
