Here's another timely episode! "How to Recover After Eating too Much" 🥧🍗🥐🧀
---
Holiday meals feel fun until the bloating, belching, fatigue, and fog show up.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine this pattern is called food stagnation. In this episode you learn why it happens, how it affects your Spleen and Stomach Qi, what symptoms confirm it, and how to clear it quickly.

Dr. Wasson walks you through simple steps to reset digestion and explain how acupuncture can help you feel normal again after a heavy meal.

Wishing you a wonderful day filled with warmth, joy, and comfort! ✨

Got sick weeks ago and still don’t feel “back to normal”?

That lingering exhaustion, brain fog, low stamina, and strange heaviness might not be in your head.

It might be post-viral fatigue.

In this month’s blog, I break down why recovery sometimes stalls, how TCM understands it, and what you can do to finally feel like yourself again.

Feeling tired, slow, or less motivated lately?

Congratulations. You’re officially aligned with the season.

Winter isn’t laziness. It’s physiology.

Your body is designed to rest and rebuild right now. The problem isn’t you. It’s the expectations you’re trying to meet while your biology is begging for a different pace.

This month’s blog explains how to work with the season instead of against it.

Your body will thank you.

Dr. Barbie Update:

Well friends, it's been a rough few days for Barbie since going home. Her pain is manageable throughout the day but gets bad in the evening. That said, she has an amazing recovery crew, is taking it slow, and letting her body do what it knows how to do: heal. 🌸

Thank you for your patience, kindness, and supportive energy! It truly means the world and is felt more than you know. 🙏

Quick update. In true Barbie fashion, I got kicked out of the hospital a few days early.
They said I was too much trouble and needed to be someone else’s problem for a while, so I went to the experts.
I’m staying with my parents for the next few days to get my bearings and some extra help with Olive.
All in all, I’m doing really well and looking forward to healing even more while surrounded by my people.
Very happy to be home, out of the hospital, and eating again.

Hi River Point Friends!

Dr. Barbie’s surgery was a success. The following is an update from her family:

They “were able to see Barbie in a very short video chat this morning. She looks beautiful and tired :) She has PT and OT coming up this morning so we just chatted briefly and let her get some rest. She’s been out of bed already a couple of times and the surgeon teams have already made rounds this morning and told her everything looks great.”

If you feel like the holidays turn your nervous system into a tangled Christmas light strand, you are not imagining it.

Short fuse.

Weird sleep.

Bloating.

Anxiety that comes out of nowhere.

This isn’t “holiday cheer.” It’s nervous system overload.

In this month’s blog, I break down why December feels like too much and how to regulate instead of unravel. Your body needs support, not more pressure.

I recorded something different this week.

I read the story I kept hidden for four years. The surgeries. The hernia. The failed repair. The fear. The grief. The strength it took to stay in this work while feeling broken myself.

If you’ve ever felt let down by your body or fought through a season that changed you, I think this episode will sit close to your heart.

Listen when you have a quiet moment. I recorded it with a full and honest one.

This month, I’m sharing something I’ve kept quiet for four years.

My surgery journey.

The complications.

The grief.

The lessons.

And what it really means to be a “wounded healer.”

This is the most personal piece I’ve ever written.

If you’ve ever felt betrayed by your body or lost in your own healing process, this one is for you.

Read it with an open heart. I wrote it with one. ❤️

About River Point

My Story...

The number one question I get asked is: “What made you decided to become an acupuncturist?” It’s true, Acupuncture is definitely a unique choice for a career, but for me however, it was a “no-brainer.”

Many acupuncturists get into their careers through amazing personal experiences they have had with the medicine. They might have had a severe injury or illness and acupuncture was the one thing they could rely on more than any other medical approach.

This has inspired many acupuncture careers and it makes for a great story of hope for many people, but that’s not what happened with me. In fact, I can count on one hand the amount of acupuncture treatments I had received when I started my Masters in Acupuncture.
