Last week marked a big milestone for one of our participants, Dare — his very first day working at a local BBQ favorite, Tin Roof! 🔥

For the past year, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with Tin Roof BBQ, where our Mission LIFE participants volunteer every Tuesday and Thursday. These days aren’t just about showing up — they’re about building real-world skills, confidence, and a sense of purpose. And Dare is a perfect example of what can happen when opportunity meets preparation.

Every single day, the individuals we support are practicing communication, teamwork, responsibility, and independence. Dare’s first day on the job was more than just employment — it’s a reflection of the growth, dedication, and belief that meaningful work is possible for everyone. This is what purpose-driven progress looks like. 💙🧡

We also want to take a moment to recognize our incredible Direct Support Professionals. The consistency, compassion, and heart you bring into this work every day is what makes moments like this possible. You don’t just teach skills — you help open doors, build confidence, and create pathways to opportunity.

Because of you, our participants aren’t just gaining experience — they’re building futures and strengthening our community along the way.

We are so proud of Dare and can’t wait to see all that comes next. This is only the beginning. 💪✨

We are constantly reminded just how incredible our community truly is. 💙🧡

Today, one of our MissionLIFE groups was out at Target working on independence through shopping, practicing self-advocacy, and building real-world work readiness skills. These moments matter—they’re where confidence grows and independence takes shape.

While they were there, a very kind individual named Dave witnessed what they were doing and chose to do something extraordinary… he gifted each of our clients a $25 Target gift card.

Completely unexpected. Completely selfless. Completely impactful.

What may seem like a small gesture to some made a huge difference for our clients. More than anything, it reminded them that they are seen, supported, valued, and truly belong in their community.

That their presence isn’t just accepted—it’s welcomed.

Dave, thank you for your kindness and for reminding all of us what community is really about. Acts like this don’t just support our clients—they uplift an entire mission.

This is what inclusion looks like. 💙

We want to extend a huge thank you to Meals on Wheels for the thoughtful appreciation goodies they provided to our team! 💙

It is truly an honor to volunteer alongside an organization that makes such a meaningful impact in our community every single day. Opportunities like this allow us to give back—but even more importantly, they provide an added sense of purpose for our MissionLIFE clients as they continue building and strengthening their employment skills.

Moments like these remind us that inclusion, service, and community go hand in hand. We’re grateful to be part of something so impactful!

One of the ways we like to give back to the community is by selecting local restaurants for lunch throughout the week — supporting the businesses that make our community so special while creating meaningful experiences for the individuals we serve. 💙🧡

Today, while MissionLIFE was enjoying lunch at Loco Cantina Kingwood, something truly incredible happened…

At first, we honestly thought it might’ve been an April Fools joke or something silly — like no way this is real… right? 😅

But it was.

A kind and generous Good Samaritan quietly paid for the entire group’s meal — 28 people in total.

They didn’t want recognition or attention, but we made sure the restaurant staff knew just how grateful we are. Moments like this remind us of something powerful:

People are always watching.
But even more importantly — people see the work being done.

They see the smiles, the growth, the inclusion, and the impact our MissionLIFE participants bring into the community every single day. And today, someone chose to honor that in the most unexpected and generous way.

To the person behind this act of kindness — thank you. You made more than just lunch special… you made people feel seen, valued, and celebrated. 💙

This is what community looks like.

As our Belonging Beside Us campaign continues this month, we want to leave you with one simple message:

Inclusion is not about inviting someone in occasionally.

It’s about recognizing they were always meant to be there.

Individuals with disabilities belong beside us — in every part of community life.

03/30/2026

Friendship.
Community.
Shared experiences.

These are things everyone deserves.

Through our Belonging Beside Us campaign, we’re reminding our community that individuals with disabilities belong in the same spaces, experiences, and opportunities as everyone else.

03/27/2026

Belonging also means opportunity.

Through Bloom’s employment preparation and support services, individuals with disabilities are empowered to pursue meaningful employment in their communities.

Because employment is another place where people deserve to stand beside their peers.

03/25/2026

Needing support does not mean someone should be separated from the community.

It means the community should stand beside them.

That belief is the foundation of our Belonging Beside Us campaign.

03/23/2026

A diagnosis is not a definition.

People with disabilities are individuals with personalities, talents, interests, and goals.

This month’s Belonging Beside Us campaign reminds us that everyone deserves the opportunity to live, work, and participate in the community.
