Townsen Memorial Health System Performs World’s First Surgical Procedure Using Newly FDA-Approved Genio Therapy Implant

Townsen Memorial Health System proudly announces a significant milestone. Dr. Andrew Huang successfully performed the first surgical procedure worldwide using the recently FDA-approved Genio Therapy implant, marking a groundbreaking achievement in the field of sleep medicine.

This pioneering Genio procedure was successfully performed at Townsen Memorial Surgery
Center - River Oaks on September 29, 2025. It represents a transformative option for patients
with moderate to severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) who have been unable to tolerate
conventional Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) treatments.

By introducing this groundbreaking therapy, Townsen Memorial Health System continues to
