🌬️ November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month 🌬️

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. — but early detection can make all the difference.

While smoking remains the number one risk factor, there are others to be aware of:
🚭 Exposure to secondhand smoke
🏠 Radon gas and environmental toxins
⚙️ Workplace exposure (such as asbestos or diesel exhaust)
🧬 A family history of lung cancer can also increase your risk — even if you’ve never smoked.

💡 The good news? Lung cancer can be detected early through a Low-Dose CT (LDCT) Scan, a quick and painless test proven to save lives.

✅ You don’t have to travel far — Low-Dose CT Lung Screenings are available right here at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital (HCMH)!

School buses need room to come and go, so please line up by the garden. We’ll move the line forward as we’re ready.

📅 Tomorrow, October 16 | 3PM – 6PM (Spanish interpreter available)
📅 *Friday, October 17 | 2PM – 5PM

Just bring your insurance card — no appointment needed!

💙 No insurance? No problem — we’ll still make sure you get your flu shot.

Simply drive through the HCMH Ambulance Garage (off 15th Street) and you’ll be on your way in minutes!
