FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Humboldt Area Rescue Squad/EMS Receives Ambulance Equipment Grant

The Humboldt Area Rescue Squad/EMS is proud to announce that it has been awarded an Ambulance Equipment Grant in the amount of $30,303.03. The grant funding has been used to purchase and update several pieces of much-needed equipment that will enhance the level of care provided to the community.

The newly acquired equipment will be placed in the squad’s ambulance, helping ensure that responders have the tools necessary to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality emergency medical care. These upgrades are part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to maintaining modern equipment and being fully prepared to respond when the community calls.

The Humboldt Area Rescue Squad/EMS operates one of the only remaining volunteer ambulances in the State of Tennessee, demonstrating the dedication of its members who freely give their time and skills to serve the citizens of Humboldt and the surrounding areas.

For many years, the Humboldt Area Rescue Squad/EMS has been committed to protecting and serving the community through emergency response, rescue operations, and emergency medical services. Grants like this play a vital role in helping volunteer organizations continue their mission and maintain the equipment necessary to provide lifesaving services.

The Humboldt Area Rescue Squad/EMS would like to express its sincere appreciation for the continued support that makes upgrades like these possible, ensuring that the department remains ready to respond whenever the community is in need.

Training never stops because emergencies don’t! 🚒🚑

A huge thank you to Weakley County Rescue Squad for having Rescue Lieutenant Steven Dolan lead tonight’s Basic Extrication class. Today focused on classroom theory, with hands-on technical training coming up later this week. 🛠️

Humboldt Area Rescue Squad/EMS is committed to education not just for our own members, but for our neighboring agencies and the community. Mastering these life-saving skills ensures that when the call comes, we are all prepared, professional, and ready to serve.

We are very proud of Lt. Dolan for sharing his expertise and strengthening our local teams! 🤝

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our own, Deputy Kenny Smith. Our hearts are truly broken as we grieve the loss of a great friend, colleague, and dedicated public servant.

Deputy Kenny faithfully served the citizens of Gibson County for many years. He also served the City of Humboldt with the same commitment, integrity, and compassion. He was a true servant to his community, and his impact will be felt for many years to come.

Gibson County has lost a great man, and we are all better for having known and worked beside him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. May they find comfort in knowing how deeply he was respected and loved.
