Most patients do not realize there is a difference between Primary Care and Urgent Care clinics; a difference that can cost you, the patient, a higher co-pay. If you have a PPO plan, often the urgent care copay is MORE than a regular office visit copay (e.g. $75 urgent care copay vs. $50 specialist copay vs. $25 primary care copay).
Urgent Care Clinics are useful when you are out of town or late at night after your Primary Care Physicians office has closed as they are usually cheaper than going to your local ER. However, during the normal business hours of your Primary Care Clinic is your best option.
Humboldt Family Care Walk-In Clinic is a “Primary Care Clinic.” We are here to serve all your medical needs with extended hours (Monday – Friday 7am to 7pm). NOW IN OUR NEW LOCATION: 1600 COLEMAN DRIVE (east end drive & the bypass) in HUMBOLDT!
Next time you need to see a physician don’t “Rush” to an acute care clinic; Slow your Pace and go to your local provider or “Walk-In Clinic”
