🏋🏼‍♀️ It’s been a while, but I haven’t gone anywhere…⁣

And now, thanks to this little appliance (and some proper alignment from my NUCCA Chiropractor), I’m FINALLY getting my life back 🙌🏻⁣

After my drop attack back in February, I decided it was time to advocate for myself & take matters into my own hands. Clearly all the medications I was on were not helping AT ALL, even though my specialist in NY was adamant to “trial” dose me over & over until I got “better.” Funny (not-so-funny) part…almost EVERY medication I was prescribed had the same side effects as the symptoms I was already experiencing 😣 so I never truly knew if they were helping or making matters worse. It surely always felt like the latter!⁣

These symptoms (the dizziness, nausea, fatigue & tinnitus) have kept me from doing things I love for faaaarrrrrrr too long. Although I wasn’t able to workout consistently, I continued supporting the women in my virtual Fit Fam on the daily — with motivational quotes, delicious healthy relationships & tips for workouts and life in general. I’ve MISSED being able to move my body the way the other women were able to. And as discouraging as it was, it was also so inspiring to watch them continue their health & fitness journey all these months.⁣

But now…⁣

I’ve been working out again & I feel AMAZING! 🤩 I didn’t say anything until now because it always seemed like I’d go all in, share on social media I was starting another program, only to get 2-3 days in and my symptoms take over again 😩 But it’s been 6 weeks…SIX WEEKS…of getting up early and having fitness as part of my routine again! I’ve had less & less “spells” and my symptoms are SO much more manageable now! I’ve been able to wean off almost all my medication — which I feel is a HUGE part of me feeling so much more “clear” & allowing me to work out. ⁣

I never would've guessed a small little appliance would resolve these last 12+ years of disability. I never would've thought that misalignment & jaw issues/TMJD was the root of all my problems. But the longer I wear this thing & the more I go to my Chiropractor, the more I truly believe I do NOT have Meniere's and that one day I will be completely symptom free 💝

Until then, and as always, I’d love for you to join our virtual Fit Fam and help you crush your own health and fitness goals! And if you’re finding yourself in need of your own type of come-back, I’ll be here with you every step of the way!

Goals I set for myself these past 4 Weeks:⁣
🥗 get my nutrition back in check⁣
💧 drink more water⁣
😣 get rid of the bloat⁣
🏋🏼‍♀️ add exercise back into my regular routine⁣
😴 sleep more/better⁣

None of these goals were about weight loss. They were about a 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨…because honestly, it’s been a while since I truly felt good. My Meniere’s is the biggest reason for that and, unfortunately, that’s not something I can control. ⁣

But what I can control is how I fuel and move my body. Although nutrition has always been more challenging for me than working out has, it was the easier part this time around. Don’t get me wrong - it was TOUGH! Planning and prepping all these meals…eating more food than I’m used to…it wasn’t a walk in the park. But the biggest struggle came when I started working out Week 2 into this process. I only got in 3 days when my vertigo attacks hit me like a freight train. Until about 2 days ago, I’ve been the most sick from this condition than I have in my 12+ years since being diagnosed.⁣

So, if you’re curious…no. I didn’t end up following the program “to a T” like I’d planned. I modified to have it work for me in the moment, because I had no other choice while dealing with the symptoms that come with this disease. But, I was able to accomplish most of the goals I set for myself, plus…I’m⁣

⬇️ 7 lbs & 3.5 inches⁣

⬆️ energy & mood⁣

I’m most proud of my recommitment to my nutrition, as I did make that my priority these past few weeks. It reminded me that (1) I need to eat MORE and that (2) amazing results DO come from the kitchen!⁣

As far as my Meniere’s, that’s a post for another day. It’s a battle I’m still fighting that seems to have no end in sight. And although this refocus on my nutrition didn’t help to relieve any of those symptoms, it is nice to feel less bloated and reenergized on the gut health side of things. It may not have helped give answers to my condition like I hoped it would, but it sure makes me feel better in other ways 🖤

82 days…⁣

That’s how long it’d been since I last pushed play. This is the longest I’ve gone (including postpartum recovery) since I started my health & fitness journey almost 4 years ago.⁣

I know it’s not the start of a new week or a new month, but why wait for that when I feel good 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺?!⁣

I’m fiiiinally starting to feel like my vertigo is under control again and that it’s safe for me to add exercise back into my routine. I’ve actually missed it, if I’m being honest! It’s been my “me time” for as long as I can remember.⁣

Did I breathe heavy throughout the entire workout? Yes.⁣
Was my heart rate up more than usual when I workout? Sure felt like it.⁣
Were my legs shake the entire time? Definitely were.⁣
Did I end up going down in weights and even ditch the weights altogether at times? You bet I did.⁣
Will I be super sore tomorrow? I already am!⁣

But I showed up. I pushed play. I focused on form and gaining back that muscle & mind connection. And I did it all for 𝘮𝘦.⁣

And I’ve decided that I’m NOT gonna go forward with an “it’s all or nothing attitude” — on days I feel good, I’ll make my workouts a priority. On days I don’t, I won’t. 🤷🏼‍♀️ And I won’t beat myself up about it either. ⁣

Cuz this is about the journey, not the destination. I’m a work in progress. And I deserve to honor my body with patience while I get back into my groove.⁣

Now time to rest & recover these VERY sore muscles! 😅⁣

According to the (🤬ing) scale, I weigh the exact same in both these pictures...⁣

Do I LOOK like I weigh the same?⁣

Nope 🤷🏼‍♀️⁣

I feel MUCH healthier and stronger now than I did before (three years ago, at the very start of my fitness journey).⁣

When I was in college, I saw a poster with a photo of a group of women similar to this one (2nd picture) hanging in the health office. The message it sends is something I’ll never forget.⁣

There is SO much more that determines a person’s health than just the number on the scale! And it is easily affected by things like height, muscle mass, water intake, what you ate that day, and more…⁣

So instead of getting hung up on some stupid number, remember it’s only one way to measure progress. And it certainly doesn’t determine your worth 💝⁣

The last “progress” photo I took before Richard was born ⇨ the last progress photo I’ll take before he turns one! 😳😭⁣

An entire year…⁣

Not gonna lie, I thought for sure I’d be back to the same size/weight/shape I was prepregnancy by now. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I mean…let’s be honest, it’s been a year! ⁣

That being said, I’m not upset about the fact that I’m not. I know I’ve been consistent with my workouts and I’ll be the first to admit that nutrition has continued to be a struggle for me. Maybe it’s because I’m still breastfeeding and crave ALL the things…maybe it’s because I need to relearn self control when it comes to sweets 🙈 (I have all the right tools — I’ve just got to DO it!)⁣

Either way, regardless of I’m where I thought I should be by now, it’s all part of 𝒎𝒚 journey and I’m proud of how far I’ve come! Honestly, I FEEL great, and that’s what matters most!⁣

Here’s to the next year and whatever challenges & successes it brings!⁣

Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it ✨ Maya Angelou⁣

Do you find yourself always counting down to Friday? Are you one who lives for the weekends, but dreads Sundays because it means the work week starts again the next day? I used to be that way, too…⁣

It’s not very often you meet someone and they actually like what they do. Personally, I don’t just like what I do — I 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 what I do! Coaching has given me a world of possibilities I didn’t even know I needed in my life…⁣

✨ I have been consistent with my own health & fitness goals for over 3 years⁣

✨ I help others reach (and surpass!) their wellness goals by helping them feel empowered to take control of their health⁣

✨ I have met some of the most amazing women & made the greatest friends⁣

✨ I travel to new places for Coach events⁣

✨ I earn free prizes & trips for me and my family⁣

✨ I earn an additional income⁣

✨ I was able to leave a full-time job in a negative environment for a part-time job that allows me to still teach (another job I love!), but also gives me more time to be home to raise my baby boy⁣

No, I’m not the kind of Coach who is going to try to sweet talk you into joining us — whether it’s to be a part of our online accountability group or to be on our team — but I am always here to chat if you decide it’s something you are interested in. There’s a link in my Insta bio, or I’m only a message away ♥︎⁣

Do you find it hard to avoid buying aaaaaallllll the junk food when you grocery shop, too?! Here’s a helpful tip:⁣

Shop ONLY the perimeter of the store!⁣

Why? Because that’s where all the 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 stuff is — the stuff our bodies reeeeaaallly crave! Most of the stuff in the middle of the store is full of the processed foods and crap our bodies DON’T need.⁣

I don’t know about you, but I always feel so satisfied after grocery shopping and having a full fridge! Especially when I know it’s packed with healthy, clean foods that I can grab and cook to fuel my body the right way!⁣

I gained A LOT during this last program...⁣

A lot of 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆.⁣

A lot of 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒕𝒉.⁣

A lot of 𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒈𝒚.⁣

A lot of 𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇-𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆.⁣

Right before I started this 6 week boxing program — a workout completely out of my comfort zone, but finished today — I got COVID. I had lost 10 pounds while I was sick and figured, just like with any other illness, I’d gain it all right back once it was over. But because I worked hard this last month and a half, I not only kept it off, but I lost an additional 2 pounds and 2.5 inches off my waist, hips, and thighs! And although the changes aren’t obvious in this first transformation photo, I can certainly 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍 them!⁣

As much as I appreciate seeing these loses, the gains are what I’m really focused on. I used to only care about what I lost...the scale controlled a lot of how I viewed myself. But when I started looking at the gains...that’s when the magic started. ✨⁣
