👀 Most people never see this part of living with MS.

The constant calculations happening in the background…

How much energy do I have today?
Can I do this now or will it wipe me out later?
Is it too hot for my symptoms?
Is this fatigue, weakness, or both?

For many people with MS, daily life involves quiet strategy and constant adjustment just to keep moving forward.

It’s work that often goes completely unseen.

If you’re navigating this every day — I see you. 💛

And if you love someone with MS, sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simply understand that the effort is real.

March is MS Awareness Month 💛

But awareness isn’t about wearing orange once and moving on.

It’s about understanding that MS is complex.
It’s neurological.
It’s unpredictable.
And it affects far more than what you can see.

It’s knowing that fatigue can be the most disabling symptom — even when someone “looks fine.”
It’s recognizing that heat can shift an entire day.
It’s understanding that balance changes aren’t carelessness — they’re communication from the nervous system.

And it’s remembering this:

People living with MS are constantly adapting. Constantly recalibrating. Constantly showing up anyway.

That resilience deserves more than sympathy.
It deserves informed care.
It deserves research.
It deserves clinicians who understand the nervous system.

If you love someone with MS — learn about it.
If you live with MS — your experience is real.
If this taught you something — share it.

March is MS Awareness Month.

But awareness isn’t just about an orange ribbon.

It’s about understanding that MS is unpredictable.
That fatigue is neurological — not laziness.
That balance changes aren’t “just being clumsy.”
That heat, stress, and illness can shift symptoms overnight.

It’s about recognizing that people living with MS are constantly adapting — even when it’s invisible.

And it’s about knowing this:

MS care deserves more than “just be careful.”
It deserves expertise.
It deserves individualized movement.
It deserves clinicians who understand the nervous system.

At Movement Matters, that’s what we’re building — a place where people with MS feel supported, challenged safely, and truly seen.

If you live with MS — we see you.
If you love someone with MS — learn about it.
If you’re a provider — let’s continue raising the standard of MS care.

If balance feels unpredictable…
If dizziness makes you second guess your steps…
If you’ve started avoiding things because you’re afraid of falling…

This workshop is for you. 💛

Balance, Dizziness & Fall Prevention in MS
🖥 Virtual option: 11:00 AM
📍 In-person option: 1:00 PM
📅 This Saturday

We’ll break down:
• The 3 systems that control balance (vision, vestibular, proprioception)
• Why dizziness happens in MS
• How to reduce fall risk without living in fear
• Practical exercises you can start at home immediately

This isn’t about “just be careful.”
It’s about understanding your system and training it.

On days your body feels off… don’t disappear from movement.

Just change the dose.

MS fatigue. Flare days. High pain days.
They don’t mean “do nothing.”
They mean reduce load — keep signal.

✨ Supine heel slides
✨ Wall-supported squats
✨ Seated band rows

Low threat. Low load.
Still telling your nervous system:
“We’re safe. We’re moving. We’re here.”

Consistency beats intensity — especially with a neurologic system.

Save this for your next flare day.
You don’t need to skip everything. 💛

If your balance feels worse in winter, you’re not imagining it.

Cold increases stiffness.
We move less.
And fear subtly changes how we walk.

When the three balance systems (vision, proprioception, vestibular) aren’t being challenged regularly, they don’t work together as efficiently.

The good news?

Balance isn’t something you either “have” or “don’t have.”

It’s trainable.

We’re breaking this down — and practicing safe progressions — at our workshop on 2/28.

Comment “BALANCE” and I’ll send you the details. 💛

If you’re hypermobile, your hamstrings usually aren’t “tight.”

They’re overworking.

When your joints move easily past neutral, your muscles become the stabilizers of last resort.

So when you feel tension in your hamstrings, it’s often not a length problem.

It’s a control problem.

Stretching into more range might feel good temporarily —
but if you don’t own that range, your nervous system will tighten right back up.

Instead, train strength at end range.

Slow hinges.
Isometric holds.
Single-leg control.

Teach your system that you’re strong there.

That’s how you build stability.

Not by hanging out at your end range —
but by controlling it.

Save this if you’re working on hypermobility strength. 💛

Balance fatigue is real.

If you feel exhausted just standing…
just waiting in line…
just talking while upright…

You’re not out of shape.
You’re not dramatic.
You’re not weak.

Your brain is constantly adjusting, correcting, stabilizing.

That’s neurologic load.

And it’s heavy.

We train this — gently, progressively, intentionally — so your system doesn’t have to work quite so hard all the time.

If this resonates, save it.
You’re not imagining it. 💛

📱 If scrolling makes you feel dizzy, foggy, or just… off — it’s not random.

Your eyes are making constant micro-adjustments.
Your brain is processing motion.
Your neck is locked in one position.

That’s a lot of input for your nervous system. 📱🧠

Try this 20-second reset:
👀 Look far away
👍 Look near
↔️ Slow head turns

Especially helpful if you have:
• MS
• Vestibular sensitivity
• Neck tension
• Concussion history
• High stress or anxiety

Save this for your next scroll break 💛

When your body feels off — dizzy, tight, overstimulated, fatigued — try this:

1️⃣ 1 minute breathing
Inhale through your nose for 4.
Slow exhale through your mouth for 6.
Let your ribs expand. Keep your shoulders relaxed.
(Longer exhales help calm the nervous system.)

2️⃣ 1 minute thoracic rotation
Seated or lying down, gently rotate side to side.
Let your eyes follow your hand.
Move slowly. Don’t force the stretch.

3️⃣ 1 minute head turns with focus
Pick a target at eye level.
30 seconds turning side to side.
30 seconds looking up and down.
Keep your eyes locked on the target. Small, controlled motion. Steady breathing.

Small, intentional inputs remind your brain you’re safe and steady.

Save this for the days you feel “off.” 💛
