Carol arrived at Gillette Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation after a hip fracture that had left her dependent with most activities of daily living. Although she was once independent, she now needed help with even the simplest of tasks, and that change was overwhelming.
Her journey wasn’t easy, in fact she faced multiple setbacks- pain, fatigue and even a brief medical complication that slowed her progress. There were days she felt discouraged and unsure if she would ever walk again.
Fortunately, Carol had a strong support system. The nursing staff provided consistent care and encouragement. OT helped her regain independence with dressing, bathing and daily routines. PT worked tirelessly to rebuild her strength and mobility, guiding her from stepping and standing to even walking while ST supported her cognitive focus and confidence, helping her to stay motivated and engaged.
Her family also stood by her every step of the way, offering love, reassurance and motivation when she needed it most.
Despite the setbacks, Carol kept pushing forward. Gradually she improved – needing less and less assistance, gaining strength and becoming more confident. IN time she progressed from dependence to independence, walking again and completing her activities of daily living on her own!
By the time she was ready for discharge from Gillette, Carol had not only met her goals- she exceeded them! Carol impressed everyone around her with her strength, resilience and remarkable return to independence. What a comeback! Congratulation Carol and Team

Happy National Rehabilitation Awareness Week to our amazing community of therapists!.
This week, we celebrate your dedication, expertise, and compassion in transforming the lives of patients every day.
As you continue to restore strength and rebuild lives, we want to especially recognize the essential role telehealth has played in expanding access to care. The pandemic demonstrated its effectiveness, and now it's up to us to advocate for its continued use.
Why advocate for continued telehealth in our industry?

Accessibility: Telehealth reaches patients quicker when necessary, ensuring they receive timely interventions
Improved Care: It offers prompt care that can lead to better patient adherence and outcomes.
Satisfaction: Our patients, customers and the families they serve appreciate getting the rehab process started when we must do a virtual evaluation.

Your voice is powerful. This week, we encourage you to celebrate your field and take a moment to contact your representatives to support permanent telehealth policies. By doing so, you'll help secure this vital option for patients everywhere.

Arbor Rehab was proud to be a part of the annual conference at LeadingAge Ohio.
At Arbor Rehabilitation, we go beyond simply staffing or managing your therapy department! We work to ensure therapy managers are well positioned to provide valuable input for several MDS sections. With CMS announcing Validation Audits of the MDS, now more than ever it is crucial that thre is supportive documentation for MDS scoring. Our teams provide that supportive documentation for areas such as Section B, K and GG. We also understand how subtle shifts in scoring accuracy can greatly impact outcomes and reimbursement.

With Arbor’s exclusive MDS Scrubber, you’ll catch issues before they show up on your iQIES report — helping you avoid unwanted triggers and capture the ones that drive results.

Whether you’re aiming to boost fiscal outcomes, streamline operations, or improve clinical performance, Arbor Rehabilitation is your strategic therapy partner.
