Cold season is upon us, and it is critical to focus on your health during this time. At Baptist, we prioritize our health by being especially careful in the winter. Here are five simple tips to ensure your wellbeing this winter.

1. Bundle up! Wear protective layers to prevent hypothermia and frostbite, even in short ventures such as grabbing the mail.

2. Stay hydrated. The dry air can be deceptive. Make sure you’re drinking plenty of water, even when you might not feel thirsty.

3. Practice good hygiene. Wash your hands frequently to reduce the risks of the cold and flu. Consider getting your annual flu shot.

4. Stay active. Regular exercise boosts your immune system, so find indoor activities that will keep you mobile.

5. Monitor your mental health. Short days, cold weather, and gray skies can affect mood. Stay connected with loved ones and seek support if needed.
