Hamburger Vegetable Stew
1-3 lbs ground beef
1 yellow onion 🧅
1 green bell pepper 🫑 (can sub for yellow or orange)
6 minced garlic cloves
1 large sweet potato or a few regular potatoes 🥔
2-3 sliced carrots 🥕
2-3 sliced ribs of celery
2 14-oz fire-roasted tomatoes
1 Qt. Beef broth
1.5 tbsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
8 oz fresh or frozen green beans
1 can of corn (optional)

Directions:
1. Brown ground beef, onion, and garlic, then drain.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients and let them simmer.
3. If you prefer stew to be thinner, add more broth.
4. If using frozen green beans, add them 30 minutes before eating.

🥣 Top it with cheese, crushed crackers, or chips. You can also mix in a scoop of Greek yogurt or sour cream.

When you think of Vitamin D, you naturally get it from the sun during the day — so it makes sense to follow nature’s lead and avoid taking it at night.

Since Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, it’s best absorbed with a meal that includes some healthy fats — think eggs, avocado, salmon, beef, nut butter, or dairy.

🍋 Baked Lemon Herb Chicken - Quick, Easy + Healthy
5-8 chicken thighs or breasts (I'm a thigh girl)
2-3 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup lemon juice or sub for OJ 🍊
1-2 tsp thyme (dried or fresh)
1-2 tsp oregano
2–3 garlic cloves, minced
Salt and pepper to taste

Marinate 4-6 hours, then bake at 375°F for 30 minutes.

🍽️ Pair it with potatoes, rice, or veggies — I went with white rice and steamed 🥦. Even my kids loved it… no ketchup required 😉

Our Story

Discovering her passion for fitness and nutrition, Aftann focused her studies on health and nutrition at Huron University. She continued to extend her learning to became an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer in 2005, a Certified Spinning Instructor in 2006, and an ISSA Certified Nutrition Specialist in 2011.

My goal since then has been to share my knowledge and experience with people of all ages about the importance of pursuing a healthy lifestyle. I am very committed to providing dynamic, individually designed programs, for people of all ages whose skills range from novice to athlete. My fitness philosophy is that there will never be a finish line in fitness.

I believe a good personal trainer delivers safe, effective and fun workouts to all training clients. My training programs are varied, progressive, and geared toward improving your health and wellness.

I put effort into healthy eating, physical activity and stress management. I want to inspire people. I want someone to look at me and say, “because of you I didn’t give up.”
