February is AMD and Low Vision Awareness Month, an opportunity to increase awareness and highlight solutions that support independence and quality of life. One of the leading causes of low vision is Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), which affects central vision and can make everyday tasks such as reading, recognizing faces, or using digital devices more challenging.

Although AMD doesn’t typically result in total blindness, it can significantly impact confidence and independence. Assistive technology plays an important role in addressing these challenges. Electronic magnifiers help enhance remaining vision through features such as adjustable magnification, high-contrast viewing, and text-to-speech functionality.

This Low Vision Awareness Month, we encourage sharing resources, increasing understanding, and highlighting the tools that empower individuals with low vision to remain independent and engaged. 💙

Independence after vision loss starts with the right support.

The VA’s VIST program is helping Veterans regain confidence through personalized low vision services, hands-on training, and ongoing encouragement. By focusing on individual needs, Veterans are rediscovering the activities they love and reclaiming their independence.

As one Veteran shared, “There’s nothing you can’t do. You might have to do it differently.”

Discover how these services are transforming lives.

For many, the prospect of blindness is daunting, often perceived as more life-altering than the loss of a limb. Vision loss can significantly impact a Veteran's quality of life, affecting their independence, mobility, and emotional well-being.

Enhanced Vision was proud to participate in the ATIA conference last week! 👋

We enjoyed connecting with educators, assistive technology professionals, and the low vision and blindness community while showcasing our solutions designed to support independence at school, work, and home. From portable to desktop electronic magnifiers, it was great to demonstrate how enhanced magnification, contrast, and flexible viewing options can make everyday tasks more accessible.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and shared their insights—we appreciate the meaningful conversations and collaboration. We’re excited to continue supporting the AT community with innovative vision solutions.

January is Glaucoma Awareness Month—a time to raise awareness about the “silent thief of sight.” Glaucoma often progresses without symptoms, but early detection, treatment, and the right tools can help individuals maintain independence and quality of life.

For those living with glaucoma, everyday tasks like reading mail, managing medications, or enjoying hobbies can become more challenging. That’s where assistive technology can help.

🔍 Electronic magnifiers from Enhanced Vision offer customizable features, including adjustable magnification, enhanced contrast, and larger viewing areas, making text and images clearer and more comfortable to see. Whether you need a portable option, such as Pebble HD, or a desktop solution like DaVinci Pro, these tools help individuals stay productive and engaged.

This Glaucoma Awareness Month, prioritize eye health, schedule regular eye exams, and explore vision solutions that support changing needs. 💚
