I am a certified pediatric nurse practitioner (CPNP) specializing in integrative and functional medicine, looking for root causes of illnesses and always thinking “outside the box.” I care for children and their families all over the country, treating the whole child, not just the symptoms. Our goal is always to provide exceptional health care while also educating and empowering parents so they can be their child’s leading advocate, and developing and delivering evidence-based treatment plans using the most cutting-edge research. I have treated Autism Spectrum Disorders, PANS/PANDAS, allergies, and mitochondrial and metabolic disorders, among many others.

That’s a question I hear from many parents. And honestly? It’s a smart one.

Here’s how I explain it:
You wouldn’t drive your car for years without checking the oil or wiper fluid. The same goes for our kids. Regular lab work helps us catch those invisible “check engine” lights before they become problems — so your child can feel their best and thrive in every way.

Preventive care is powerful. And sometimes, the smartest thing we can do as parents is to look deeper even when everything seems “fine.”

As October comes to a close, I want to take a moment to recognize something close to my heart: Down Syndrome Awareness Month. 💙💛

This month has been about celebrating the joy, strength, and unique gifts that individuals with Down Syndrome bring to the world, and that message continues long after October ends.

Brittany Schiavone, founder of Brittany's Baskets of Hope, is one of those individuals who brings joy, strength and hope to the world! Through her nonprofit, Brittany has delivered thousands of baskets to families across the US and Puerto Rico. As part of their mission, they create and deliver baskets to celebrate the arrival of babies with Down Syndrome, filled with information and guidance for parents, along with gifts of love and joy for the babies and their siblings. Brittany’s passion proves that every child’s possibilities are endless.

At Integrative Pediatrics, I believe every child has something special to offer. Let's celebrate every day with "joy that transcends differences, rises above challenges and gently reminds us that the world can be a brighter, more beautiful place when we share it with care." 🫶
