🩺🩻WV HOSA Future Health Professionals State Leadership Conference

Recently students from Cabell Midland High School HOSA and Huntington High School HOSA attended the state leadership conference.
HOSA is a global, student-led organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, the Department of Health and Human Services, and several federal and state agencies. Its mission is to empower HOSA-Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration, and experience. Students participating in HOSA are interested in pursuing careers in health professions and, through this program, work to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.

🧠 Be Fast, Be a Stroke Champion 🧠

Marissa Starkey, RN, is our Emergency Department resource nurse and a stroke champion. She's pictured here in this year's Stroke Awareness T-shirt, which reminds us to BE FAST when it comes to stroke.

🟥 B - Balance, sudden loss of balance
🟥 E - Eyes, sudden double or blurred vision
🟥 F - Face, one side of the face dropping
🟥 A - Arms, weak/numb on one side
🟥 S - Speech, slurred/garbled and trouble repeating words back
🟥 T - Time, call 911 ASAP
