The Bridge Program kiddos recently visited Horseshoe Heaven on Smith Farm in Scott Depot, WV. They each got to go through a session of "Itty Bitty Horse Therapy," where they learned about safety and interesting horse facts, all while getting to brush down their coats and clean out their hooves. They each made a necklace with a charm that contained a piece of horse hair as a keepsake. After all the hard work, they spent time feeding the fish and relaxing by the pond.

Thank you to Horseshoe Heaven for this wonderful experience.

The West Virginia Counseling Association held its annual fall conference this year at the Stonewall Resort in Ronoake, WV. River Park was excited to be a Silver Sponsor at the conference and provide information and education about the programs and services we provide.

The conference had some amazing presenters this year. Between the beautiful Resort, the location, relaxing atmosphere and all the terrific presenters, it was a must-attend event for so many counselors, therapists and social workers.

We participated in a resource fair held by the Kanawha County Department of Human Services (DOHS). Around 30 agencies set up booths with information and discussed the services their agencies had to offer. The resource fair was a networking opportunity for these agencies to connect with DOHS staff and discuss ways to provide assistance and services for their clients.
