Gonna be a long one folks, strap in....
As the dark hours lengthen and the cold weather sets in, it's a perfect time to reflect on the year that is wrapping up.
Last year, I decided to take my fledgling business in a whole new direction. I love the local markets, but I decided to try my hand at the Renaissance faires and festivals I love so much. I didn't know how to sign up, how to get my name known, or even what faires were out there but I learned.... and I learned quickly. Honestly, there's still much to learn!
What a rush this past year has been!!! I've traveled to states I've never been before! I've driven further than I thought I could... and all while pulling a trailer. Oh yeah, I even "learned" how to drive (and back up) with a trailer... although I completely admit, I still need work 😅 Camping has just become a basic function of life now. There have been rejections, and there have definitely been failures along the way, but I made it through the year with my tent (mostly) still intact. (IYKYK) This kind of life is not for everyone, but I am loving it!
None of this would have been possible without some key people giving this little business of mine a chance at their events and for that I am sooo very thankful. I'm also so thankful for the people and friends I've met and made! Many took the time to show me tips and tricks, to have meals together, or just to pass the time! This really goes out to all of you! I look forward to seeing you again in 2026!
And a very special thank you to my husband, Scott, who keeps me sane (there may be debate out on that one), and really helps keep this dream of mine alive! From loading and unloading, listening to my rants when things go screwy, learning the ropes and running local shows, and keeping our home together while I'm gone. If it weren't for his support, this wouldn't be a reality.
