Congratulations Lacey Smith, QMA, our Quest for Excellence winner for 2025! We are looking forward to honoring this year's outstanding Quest Winners at the banquet on November 13 at the Marriott in Indianapolis.
Lacey Smith is a vital member of the Hickory Creek at Huntington family, serving in our nursing department for over 13 years as both a CNA and, for the past eight years, a QMA. She joined our team during a time of staffing challenges and quickly became a cornerstone, not only providing excellent care but also helping recruit and inspire others to join. Her positive influence and relationships have shaped the supportive and uplifting culture we enjoy today.
Known for her compassion toward residents and dedication to her coworkers, Lacey consistently leads by example. “Lacey came to this building and helped turn it into the positive and uplifting atmosphere we have today,” her supervisor shares. Her laughter and encouraging spirit fill the halls, reminding everyone that hard work and joy can go hand in hand.
When she first arrived, Lacey was hesitant to serve as a QMA due to past experiences. However, as she witnessed the growth and progress within the building, she embraced the role wholeheartedly. She quickly mastered the responsibilities, just as she does with every task entrusted to her. Residents adore her, often expressing how much they look forward to her presence: “I know when Lacey is here, we will have a good and fun day,” one resident said.
Outside of work, Lacey is a devoted wife and mother to a little blonde girl who loves fancy dresses. She enjoys attending concerts and cherishing time with her family. Just as with her family at home, her warmth, humor, and unwavering commitment make her a true blessing to residents, staff, and families alike.
