It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Retired Firefighter Jimmie Dale Hardy. Jimmie previously served the citizens of Huntington for 28 years before retiring in 2000. He visited the fire station frequently and also greeted with a big smile. A great man and Firefighter of his time, he will be missed. Rest easy Jimmie Dale.

Our newest group of recruits are really putting in the work 💪🏻. Yesterday they learned about auto extrication and today they presented on topics ranging from fire extinguishers and how to use them; smoke alarms and where to put them; safely heating your home in the winter time.

Their next step will be traveling to Weston where they will begin live burn training. Keep up the good work fellas!

Today we have the Honor of Celebrating one of the Greats. For 27 years, Chris Wilson has roamed these halls, rode the trucks & led with respect for his firefighters & this City. He’s never shied away from a challenge or a joke. From working his way up the ranks to Deputy Chief or playing the role of Ric Flair in the job fantasy football league, Chris has always been there for the team. This well earned retirement is going to be felt for years. The laughs, tears, cold nights, long days, through fires & devastation Chris has been in the front leading us through it with that smile he carries everywhere.
A million stories, a millon laughs, he’s a Firefighter through & through. Thank you for everything Deputy Chief Chris Wilson, it’s been a complete
honor Sir.
