🏆 EPA Challenge – November Results Are IN! 🏆

Magic in the OR! 🧙‍♂️ Our first-ever EPA Challenge has officially begun—and Chief Resident Dr. Rahimpour and his team finished November with an impressive 605 points! ✨

💥 Total EPAs completed across all teams soared this month, marking a huge jump from previous months!

💰 Education Fund rewards and prizes will be finalized after the November–December challenge period ends.

Who will conjure the top score in December? 🔮 Let the magic continue!

🐾 Special Wellness Visitor! 🐾

Yesterday, we welcomed Robin and her certified pet therapy Sheltie, Isabella, for a wellness visit with our surgical residents. Their visit brought plenty of smiles and a much-needed dose of calm during a busy week, and it reminded us that sometimes the best medicine comes with four paws and a wagging tail. 🐶

🩺 Happy Operating Room Nurse Day! 🩺

Our General Surgery Residency Program joined in recognizing Operating Room Nurse Day, celebrated annually on November 14. Established in 1989, this day honors the skilled surgical nurses who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure patient safety and smooth, successful operations.

Our OR nurses are the calm in the chaos and the heart of the surgical team. Their expertise, teamwork, and compassion make all the difference.

We celebrated with cupcakes and cookie cake — and even more importantly, with gratitude from our residents and faculty. Here’s to our incredible OR nurses at all of our training sites — today and every day, we couldn’t do it without you! 💚

🎃 Pumpkin House Tailgate Fun! 🎃

Our General Surgery Residency team joined forces with Family Medicine for a festive fall tailgate at the famous Pumpkin House, featuring over 3,000 hand-carved pumpkins!

Residents, attendings, staff, and families came together to enjoy good food, great company, and a perfect autumn evening. 🍂

We loved seeing our guests celebrating teamwork, community, and a little Halloween spirit! 🧡

Our Associate Program Director and two of our residents brought Halloween cheer to patients during trick-or-treat rounds as Dr. Seuss and Things 1 & 2!

Moments like these remind us that compassion and connection are just as important as clinical care.

The EPA House Cup Challenge kicks off November 1st! Residents are officially sorted and teaming up by Hogwarts Houses to turn EPA progress into some friendly (and magical) competition.

Who will claim the House Cup of Excellence or Dumbledore’s Distinction — and a little boost to their Education Funds? Stay tuned for leaderboard updates and special “Daily Prophet” news! 🗞️
